I agree 100%. I'll even do my best to get people to forget that I went over to the dark side and bought the wrong boat.

There you go again. SHeesh some people don't get it. NOBODY said you bought the wrong boat. Are you not listening???? NOBODY is saying the CC is a bad boat. UGH I give up.

EDIT:
I like the non censorship way of the C-brats but this whole thread is just plain stupid and I for one would not lose any sleep if were just deleted from cyberspace. What a waste of intelligence.

Hi flapbreaker!

That was meant to be funny. I guess doing comedy is not in my future.

I often think that a bit of levity helps but I'll restrain myself.

I hope this to be my last comment on the matter.

Tom - I did not call anyone a liar. I said, and still feel, that I do not believe we have members not posting for fear of being banned. I just can't imagine that. If it were true, then Bill and I have wasted two years of significant effort and a few thousand of our own dollars creating and keeping this place one of friendship and decency. And certainly the individual who wrote the first message Mr. Stuberg cited has a very vague understanding of the truth behind what transpired with the original C-Dog site.

I am quite sure Mr. Stuberg has received a great many PMs and emails as a result of this thread. I find it tasteless to post them publicly, and deceitful to do so under the guise of honorably protecting the sender's identity. The sender(s) should communicate such concerns to Bill or me. We will either dispel them or cheerfully refund the membership fee.

Furthermore, Mr. Stuberg is obviously very educated in the ways of pushing people's buttons and stimulating reactive behavior. That is an admirable trait, but the world would be better served if it was used to effect positive reactive behaviors. It has appeared to some that he is promoting the Cape Cruiser for greater reasons than mere enthusiasm for his purchase. I flat out do not believe that to be the case, either. I do not think any company, especially one new in the marketplace, would encourage someone of Mr. Stuberg's demeanor and social skills to advocate for them.

Besides blatant advertising, there is only one way I know of to get a post edited or deleted on this forum, and the possible effect on my 9 and 11 year old girls' innocent minds is the measure I use to determine the level of tolerance. Nothing in this discussion comes even close to that threshold. Quite frankly, it sounds at times very similar to the spats they have with each other.

Through all of this, I harbor no ill feeling toward anyone based upon the words they have lent to this discussion. Nor do I presumptuously pass judgment on an individual's character simply by reading a few snippets of their philosophy, be it concerning a boat, a web site, the truck they drive, or their societal mores. Mr. Stuberg, and all the words he has thus far shared, are welcome to remain. The most drastic measure considered for a disparaging or distasteful thread is to move it to a more appropriate forum on the site. Perhaps one day we will create such a place on here. I certainly hope we never have the need.

Mike

... nah, no way... I hold to a saying: "truth can afford to be examined" :star but of course on another site, mind you ;)

I think the original post was a little too polished; comparing pretty much -- empty boats.

It's when the lighter, more flat-bottomed C-Dory begins to show her true colors: heavy-loaded combined with an unbeatable combination of milage and seaworthiness underway, that the "ride" is at it's best.

The CC's (bless there hearts) are a thousand pounds more (if I read that right) ... there ain't no "free lunch" in two hulls that are so similar.

Somewhere in another post: the CC's are like a jumping-off point towards another boat: like Sea Sport.

Let them have there fun, but not pester us with their "better boat" baloney...

Hi RedRoxGreg!

You made a great comment. My testing was definitely done with mostly empty boats. Just myself and a representative from the company on board. No gear of any kind.

It will indeed be interesting to see what happens when the boat is loaded to the hilt. I guess I'll be finding out.

And just so you know, I've now shown a number of friends your photo with RedFox in the ice. I think C-Dory should pay you for that one. I can't imagine how you did it but it's really a cool photo. If that doesn't show how tough the boat is, nothing does.

several people , fishtales being the worst, are not serving this site very well by tring to run off a nice guy.

Why, thanks Tom. I really appreciate that. If you would take the time to read some of my recent posts on other threads, you'll see that I am not trying to run off a "nice guy". If I felt he was nice I, as well as others, would not have taken offence at the attitude of his posts. There are plenty of groups that are not BOAT brand specific- let him join one of those. When he came on here posting the way that he did, I do not feel that we owe him anything nor do we need to help him outfit his boat.
You asked in a previous post about what happened to "just be nice", I was trying to assist him in finding the information he was asking for.

Aw, what the heck, some people are just dense.

Stuberg, your welcome :thup thanks for hangin-in-there to. Much gets lost in just post on a board :crook

Now, if we could all just head over and pester Jeff, that the RedFox needs a new trailer... I'd be happy :D  :beer  :cigar :smilep

Stuberg-

I do not like to post messages like the following, but feel I have no choice but to speak out with what I feel is the truth for my fellow C-Brats to consider.

In my 35 years of teaching, I've had to deal with, figure out, and finally do something about persons such as you.

I believe the following characterizes your interactions on this site so far:

On the surface, you want to appear friendly, objective, reasonable, and willing to play by the rules.

However, if one reads through all of your posts on this thread, one inevitably is led to the following conclusions:

There is a duplex or double level transaction going on here in which you want to appear friendly, but are really trying to stir up as much trouble, misunderstandings, and hurt feelings as possible.

You crave the attention you receive, both good and bad, and revel in the problems it creates. You care very much about the attention you receive, and indeed appear to enjoy the conflict and hurt feelings. You have a cavalier attitude about all of this, and intend to go on indefinitely. You're having great fun.

Flagold's reference to the website which describes Internet Trolls is a perfect fit for you.

You are here on the pretense of just being another good fellow who bought a different boat and who wants to share information with everyone. However, if that were true, the level of disturbance and ill-will generated would not be so very high.

Granted, some of our members are upset at some of the developments with the Cape Cruiser controversy, but that alone does not begin to account for the continued agitation, ill-will, and hurt feelings that continue to characterize the reaction to your posts and especially to the perceived underlying motivation behind them.

Many of us can see through the transparent public face you try to generate in these posts and see what lurks behind. You are here to cause trouble and disruption, not friendship and understanding.

This has always been such a wonderful, caring group of people who have bent over backwards to avoid serious conflict, although some friendly kidding goes on from time to time between friends, just to add humor and entertainment value to our fun with each other.

All in all, you don't fit into this group, and it isn't the Cape Cruiser that's the misfit. It's you. Find somewhere else to do your thing! Joe.

This thread has gone from interesting, to irritating, to madness and now humor. C-Dory owners are starting to insult someone for buying the same boat that they own. Tom, you're killing me man. I have to apologize to Stuberg for my original thought that he was a CC plant. The folks at CC must be horrified by this thread by now. If he was the ambassador for my new product I would give him $25,000 extra to go and buy the competitor's product.

I'm now starting to think that he's being paid by the word by C-Dory Marine. Jeff, are you behind this? If so, it's a stroke of marketing genius. If he's just a troll, it's a stroke of small business luck. By the time he's finished you'll have to add on to the plant after the January show. What a great guy he is, to go and irritate so many of your competitor's potential customer base before they even get a chance to see the boat at the show.

Hi Joe (SeaWolf)!

Whoa! It was just mentioned that it would be best to start over and shake hands and this is what you post?

Interesting.

But what if Seawolf is right? And the others? I would hate to say I would not shake hands with an individual just from web site posts - especially when the discussion is just about boats! So I'd shake it and wish you the best with your boat. A good boat I'm sure. But what do your friends say? Family? Colleagues? If you need some help with people skills maybe you should take some classes or something. Old saying: If one person calls you "alhfkajshflayq", ignore them. But if many people call you this, you may have to look in the mirror. Personally, I'm going to bed.

If you need some help with people skills maybe you should take some classes or something.

He teaches them, for crying out loud. Or, rather, he sells them. The path of this thread is by design. It is just too bad there is not a section on Mr. Stuberg's own web site for unedited public comment.

It was a fun game, now let's just grow up and move on.

Sea Wolf;

I think your last post on this subject is right on and I agree 100% with your last paragraph.

"All in all, you don't fit into this group, and it isn't the Cape Cruiser that's the misfit. It's you. Find somewhere else to do your thing!"

Dave

Hi DaveS!

You win the prize. This thread has nothing to do with boating. It was designed to see how open minded this group is on controversial topics.

How do you think you scored?

It looks like this has been one of the most popular threads in quite some time.

So don't just visit stuberg.com, come to success.com as well. That's a better site with many more products on good communications.

Heck, you can even go to this link and learn "The Secret" once and for all:

[Advertising Link Removed By Da Nag]

Have fun and don't kill the next person who appears to be different.

I enjoyed conversing with all of you. Take care!

Geez, that sounds like blatant advertising, don't it? Naw, we'll keep Mr. Stuberg around for the sheer entertainment. But thanks, sir, for proving my hunch. Google doesn't tell you what kind of boat a guy has, so I took a chance. Be sure and direct potential customers to this discussion so they can see what they're buying. You're good. Very good. Wrong kind of motivation, though. And your thread scored way lower than the old C-Dog/C-Brat topic that a very few individuals try to turn into a controversy.

Now then, if you wish to keep us posted on your new boat, I am sure there will be some interest.

Well even though I am torn……”post or not to post”, I guess everyone has their day. I have never posted before, I leave that up to Rick. He only forces (wink) me to read all the threads so I will be better prepared for the “Second Coming”, and I am sure that day will come. A C-Dory would be our only choice for replacement of my beloved Wooldridge…”The Foggy Dew”…our fishing machine.
Although I am quite happy to reside in the background, pulling the anchor, canning the catch, baiting the hooks, and reeling in the big ones (Captain Rick navigates) I decided to wipe off the fish slime and hit the keys.
I have to agree with Sea Wolf. I have worked for the last 16 years in Special Education, with severe behavior students who have perfected the art of “Attention Seeking Misbehaviors.” It is obvious to me that Stuberg has as well. How sad, that we choose to give him the attention that he definitely does not deserve by responding (myself included). So, with that said, I have hooks to sharpen, nets to mend, guns to bear and a boat to keep clean in case an opportunity arises for the Foggy Dew to become the Foggy Dew II.
Donna (the wife of the mighty one)
Can’t wait to meet some of you one day……with or without a “you know what” (wink)
Rick’s signature is “Life is too short to hunt with an ugly gun”….Well tonight mine is……….”Life is just too short……..”

Come on you people. Don’t fall for this. I don’t believe for one second that a successful business person would waste his time playing games on this site to see how open minded we are. He (stupidberg) is still playing games with you.

If you don’t believe me, then send an email to the real Robert Stueberg with a link to this forum and ask if he is the same person. His email address is [email link removed]

Dave

What leads you to believe he is a "successful business person"? Maybe he is just selling snakeoil. Tom said the man is not a liar, so perhaps it is best to just let go of this one. It was kind of fun in a way, and two years from now when we look back over this thread that we declined to delete, it will be funny.
