Thanks for the comments about my post. Now to your question:
"Sea Wolf; my wife and I want to take a trip to Shasta Lake this Fall with our 16’ Cruiser and I was wondering how much longer the weather will still be nice down there? Now I consider 70 degree temperature nice, however my wife (Terri) likes it warmer."
Well, it rained here yesterday and today. Might do it again tomorrow. Daytime rainy day temperatures are in the mid-60's. The clear days this time of year are in the 70's to low 80's, but their days are numbered!
Although it varies from year to year, we'll have daytime weather in the 70's or so until about the middle of November, then it will drop into the 60's. Two to four day long rainy / cloudy periods once every other week or so are beginning to make their debut as we slide down from Fall towards Winter.
Like so many other places, it's the random unpredictability that can mess with your plans. We could have a two week Indian Summer the week you pick out for your vacation, or we could have a cold rainy plunge into Winter.
But for the next three weeks, the odds are pretty good that you'll have those 72-80 degree afternoons coupled with nights in the middle 50's that make October and early November the best time of the year here in Northern California!
Let me know if I can answer any more of your questions about your planned trip! Joe.
