Good for Sam! Great video, and I am sure more to come!
A couple of comments--I was interested in his comment, that bear spray was OK as long is it was clearly labeled "For use against bears". In the past, there were two different bear sprays--It had to do with the labeling, and % of pepper: Note the difference in the terminology:
" 2% Capsaicin and other related Capsaicinoids
Product sold in the US and Canada is the same. The two countries just have different labeling requirements.
In the US, capsaicin and other related capsaicinoids (2%) are required on the label.
In Canada, only Capsaicin (1%) is allowed on the label."
As I read current regs, it appears that most brands will be allowed over the border. I have never been asked to see the products that I have declared.
The last few times I have gone by car, the boarder agent has asked very specifically about hand guns--and on several occasions, have noted that I have a Florida CCW permit.
Any of our LEO information appears to be available to Canadian customs. This does include any felony arrests, and DWI. I have friends who have been refused entry because they had a DWI.
Just a heads up.
