Any 25' CD owners in Bellingham? I'd love to catch a ride and see how they handle. I am getting ready to make an offer and would like to feel the difference between a 25 vs 22, as I have had two 22s. Thanks.

I no longer have a 25, and I'm not in Bellingham. I didn't even stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night. That said, there is (to me) a significant difference in the ride of the 25 vs the 22. More beam, more waterline, and more than a ton difference in weight. Yep, it uses more fuel, but I think that is a good trade-off to have the amenities and space with the 25.

Dr. Bob has had both and currently has a 22. Pat Anderson has had both and currently has a 25. It would be interesting to hear their perspectives.

Good luck with the search.

Oh- I forgot, Pat is just north of me now. Maybe I can catch a ride with him here in the near future before a purchase and sales agreement. I'll PM him. Thanks.

Get a ride on Pat's boat--it is well equipped and they have a lot of experience.

We took a 1 month trip to the Broughtons from Sequim, and never sat out a day because of weather. There were a couple of days when we went down wind, were no one else was moving. We did have both trim tabs and the Permatrim. We were a bit underpowered with the Honda 130. I would want at least 150, but not the weight of a 200.

On our slightly over a month, and 1200 mile trip to Alaska (launched at Prince Rupert), we sat out weather one day. But no one else was moving. The next to last day, Marie was catching too many fish, and she wanted to stay over the hole, even though the weather was building. We ended up bucking into 3 1/2 to 5 foot seas. Very slow going--we got in behind a trawler going 7 knots (but the seas slowed him to 6 or a little less, and we did fine. We would have been very slow without a larger boat to break the seas.

I agree, that the 25 will do better than a 22, but it is hard to quantitate.
