He was a Good Boy.

Oh No! So sorry Pat and Patty. We know how much he meant to you. I never saw him apart from one or both of you. He will be missed. Our Condolences. May the good memories of his partnership in your lives bring you some comfort. Gary and Colleen

We who choose to surround ourselves with lives
even more temporary than our own
live in a fragile circle easily and often breached.

Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would
live no other way.

We cherish memory as the only certain immortality,
never fully understanding the necessary plan.

Thanks all. Baxter gave us 17 years of joy, love, and wonderful memories. He is gone but will never be forgotten.

It is tough. We've been through it, and the hurt is like a punch in the heart. You have 17 years of memories... there will be times that someone will mention him, or you will see a "Facebook Memory" that you posted about him 8 years ago, and that wave of hurt will sweep over you. With time, the memories that cause you heartache right now will bring a smile to you... you will remember fondly. Because Baxter was a good boy and gave you 17 years of love and companionship. Remember those good times. Remember that you and Patty gave him a wonderful life, with adventures many dogs never get to experience.

Hugs,
Jim & Joan

Yes, MANY adventures! Every C-Brat Get-Together. Every cruise in the San Juans, South Sound, Gulf Islands, Desolation Sound, and Princess Louisa. Lakes Roosevelt, Priest, and Pend Oreille. Four times to Lake Powell. 5,428 miles around the Great Loop. Arizona. Right now it is BOTH heartaches and smiles. As time passes, I hope it will be more smiles but right now there is a big hole in my heart and some tears in my eyes.

Pat and Patty,

I like what Jim and Joan (Wild Blue) said, "Remember that you and Patty gave him a wonderful life, with adventures many dogs never get to experience."

What a great life you provided for Baxter! You provided and accomplished for him a full and rewarding life that any dog would envy. Congratulations. If a dog were to follow Baxter, I am confident that he or she would follow in his footsteps. He cannot be replaced but the memories of the life you shared with him are special.

Pat and Patty, I know Angel was at the rainbow bridge to greet Baxter. Our sympathy and love to you both. As Marie said "Baxter was a very special dog". He will live forever in your hearts! (and ours). We both shed a few tears for your loss.

It just won't be the same without Baxter. For so long it was Pat, Patti, and Baxter. I watched as you helped him in the boat, out of the boat, or walked up to shore for a piddle. "Honey, can you hand me Baxter's leash (or dish)," one of you might say to the other before we started an island stroll or a walk about town. Baxter sat and waited patiently. He knew the routine, and he was just happy to go explore with his favorite humans--and receive pats and greetings from other boaters along the way.

He'll sure be missed. Heck, my big cat-buddy Buster died five years ago this week, and I sort of still expect him waiting for me when I come home.

Pat and Patti, thanks for letting us know of Baxter's passing, and for sharing your feelings.
