Does anyone use a kicker motor on the starboard side?

The only disadvantage might be a little more fuel consumption, and the weight on the Starboard side--having a couple of people, and perhaps moving some items to the opposite side, should balance the boat when at reast, and trim tabs work well when on a plane.

    Seastar HC5345-3 rebuilt

Have you contacted Dometic Marine? Are you certain that you have a Seastar Helm and system. There may be a resivoir if you have teeflex or Hynautic. In those cases there may be a resevoir which is where you add fluid and you pressurize the system. I have owned the Hynautic and Wagner...

    Refrigerator install

The early 25's have the water tank under the V berth on Port side. The ones which have the holding tank aft under the splash well, have the water tank forward under the V berth on Port side. The 1995 25's had heads which were optional. In the 2006 era on---not exactly certain where the...

Does anyone use a kicker motor on the starboard side?

It is beause they are the same 333 cu in. Block. The 9.9 will push your boat as well as the 20, unless you are able to swing a larger prop. Neither will plane the boat.

What to use to clean cushions

We do use "incredable" for difficult spots. We have also used Ivory soap flakes or Woolite solution. The 303 fabric cleaner is also very good, and recommended by Sunbrella's manufacturer. After cleaning we spray the cushions with 303 Fabric Protectorant. Scotch Guard is simiar. Generally...

Leaking Front Hatch on 2011 22 Cruiser

Is it the hatch, or around the hatch. Many boats have the cutout too large. I have had to add as much as 1/4" of "meat" (glass fibers) all of the way around to make them secure in the fit. This included the brand new Tom Cat. The "lense" of the Bomar hatch can be repaced. Is there a vent...

High Moisture Readings on a Survey

Take photos during your survey. Get numbers on the moisture. Ask lots of questions. A sea trial should be scheduled at the same time if possible, and the surveyor can go on the Sea Trial.

High Moisture Readings on a Survey

There are no stringers--there are fiberglass covered vertical compartment dividers around the fue tank under the cockpit sole of the 25 (where the fuel tank lives). If these were stringers they would have been more robust and would have extended all of the way to the transom. "Anchoredout"...

Does anyone use a kicker motor on the starboard side?

I also have put all of my kickers on the port side. Most of these have been light weight. If you remove the swim platform (I recommend that you not remove it), you will have to fill those holes.

High Moisture Readings on a Survey

The stringer--which I assume is the wood encased "box" which surrounds the fuel tank--is not structural as it is in many boats. The cockpit deck leaks around the hatches. There are new hatches which do not leak and can be fitted easily. The surveyor is not able to easily access this...

    Fault Codes With Wallas DTNordic

Despite having owned both RV and boats for over 60 years, I had never heard of Redarc monitoring system. I read the manual and brochure, and it is similar to the Victron 712, although I would choose the Victron unit because it appears to give slightly more date. It should work. If you have...

    Fault Codes With Wallas DTNordic

In our boats the fuel tank is under the galley counter. The fuel pump is not real "strong". You can introduce a bubbe in the fuel line, and follow it up to the pump. I suspect your fuel container is too low, and it is fuel starved. Try moving the tank so it is no more than 30" below the...

This years mega land slide & tsunami in Tracy Arm, SE Alaska

Jay and Jolee, thank you for linking to this article. It shows the dangers which face CDory owners as well as any mariners in the waters we all ply. Lake Powell also has its dangers--falling rocks, flash floods, High winds. Alaska is still a wild place. It is a miracle that no boats were...

    Fault Codes With Wallas DTNordic

These are susceptible to low voltage--check the battery voltage when you are running it. I monitor batteries in boats and RV's with Victron (there are Chinese knock offs) 712 with bluetooth for smart phone. Next I would check the fue pump, to be sure it is pulling fuel--is the fuel tank...

    Tabbing or gel cote peeling?

Definately gel coat or paint peeling. It was sprayed on long after the hull was laminated to "finish" the interior of the boat. Agree, Grind off, clean and paint.

    Refrigerator

"While headlines sound dramatic, this is not a shutdown — it’s a corporate restructuring within the same Thetford family. The filing simply allows Norcold’s assets and ongoing operations to be transferred into another Thetford-owned company, Dave Carter & Associates (DCA), a major RV parts...

    Dangling Rope Marina

What a shame and what waste! Colby, thank you for bringing this video to our attention--it fully explains what happened....but not so much why it happened. We used Dangling rope marina at least several times on each trip we made to Powell. It was making money, and it will impact how people...

    Refrigerator

I have had two dometic chest type fail at 2 years (right after the warantee), but Dometic gave me a new one anyway--it also failed. I have a Norcold, chest type which is only 12 volt and it is 6 years old--not used a lot, but works fine. I had another Norcold which lasted 13 years of almost...
