INN-THE-WATER is in the Hingham Harbor water waiting to be used. Got a little cosmetic work to do on her in that she was not in the water the last two years. Inn is sold. Wife wants me to sell the boat. I told her I would sell it under one reason which is not to be broadcast. So far it looks...

    Future New England Cruises

Dave and Ginny, You never get what you want when you sell real estate. I got the trailer fixed in New York and picked it up after attending an Inn Convention in Stow that October. Yes it needs some work, which I plan to do as soon as I get the boat in the water next spring. If it calls for a...

    Captain’s License questions

Hi Steve, You might want to start with the Launch License. It would get you on the water running launches and water taxies. It would build sea time. Also take all the USCGAux and USPS Courses. There are sites on the internet that can help you with the NavRules section. They show picture of...

    Another Magazine bites the dust

Hi folks, I stopped getting Boating magazines and RV magazines by subscriptions a while ago. First, they cost good money. Second, moving twice a year, some got lost in the shuffle. Third, they were nothing but catalogues for new boats and equitment which cost money. (I do catch up with reading...

Boat US magazine Bill and El

Hi Folks, A few weeks I was on a CGAux Patrol when my friend Ethan asked me if I got USBOAT Magazine. I told him that I did not renew the towing because I was not putting the boat in the water this year. Ethan then told me that there was an article about a couple who cruise on a C-dory like...

    Pit Bull ATTACK

First, we get insurance companies NOT to insure them. Then when we sue, we take the owners house, cars, and boat. Second, many towns OUTLAY pit bulls. If you have them have heavy fines. Fred

    Anchor handling on a 22

Hi Folks, One day I anchored my 22' Classic Angler and when I went to raise it, both the wind (About 15 knots), and the tide (2 to 3 knots) were going in the same direction. After hand hauling the anchor, I decided that I would get a windless to lower and raise the anchor. Best decision I have...

    Open Windows

Hi Folks, I have a 22' Classic Angler. I cut a piece of wood that fits on my front hatch and leaves it open a crack. Cheap and it works. I cut groves to fit the forward bottom of the hatch and the upper edge of the bottom of the hatch.

    Too Old

Jim, Take 30 days off and reevaluate your decision. 70 is a very young age to call it quits.
