Yellowstone John

"Yellowstone John" of FarWest is in the University Hospital in Gainesville FL. I have been talking to him on the phone. We believe that he is scheduled to have a cardiac cath in the AM, and I will keep the group appraised of his condition.

John has been an inspiration to all of the C Brats and those who have spent time with him know that he is a treasure of information--not only about boats, but the lure of the mountains of the Yellowstone region as well as most of the areas of Montana and Wyoming.

John and his wife are in our prayers.

I'll be thinking of Yellowstone John. Please feel free to pass along my sentiments if you'd like to, and thanks for being the go-between. Although I haven't met him (yet), I sure have enjoyed looking through his Farwest II album for inspiration and ideas.

Please pass on to Yellowstone John our best wishes - we hold him in our thoughts and prayers. We have shared wonderful experiences in the Bigborn Canyon and on Lake Yellowstone with John. Our best wishes.

Thanks for keeping us all posted, Bob.

Thank you very much, Bob. John is not only an inspiration but a great friend.

Pass along for me please that I need him to get back into walking shape soon before I start to slow down myself. We surely have at least one more brisk hike in us. I am certain he will know what I mean. When he's not looking, give Edna a hug for me, too!

Please pass on our best wishes to John and Edna. John is someone who befriended me when we first bought the MOOSE and I incorporated some of his ideas.

...and I have more binoculars questions to ask him

You know, until I read this from you I had forgotten that it was Yellowstone John who was so helpful in a recent binoculars thread. Not that I had forgotten the thread and info, but I guess since I haven't met him in person I slipped the connection between that and his user name. Now I remember :thup

Bob,

Please pass on on our best wishes to John & Edna & let him know of our hope to spent more enjoyable time with him or them in Yellowstone this summer. Over the last several years Jolee & I have shared many memorable good times in Yellowstone Park with them at the Bridge Bay docks, around the back country campfires & boating on the lake. Along with a wealth of knowledge on most any subject, John's knowledge about & love for the Greater Yellowstone Area, it's history, wildlife & their habitat is unsurpassed by any person I've known. I'm proud to be able to call Yellowstone John a very valued friend. Last summer John took me on my first ever sailing adventure, which was aboard his Grumman Cargo Canoe on Yellowstone Lake. It wasn't an experience I will forget!!!

Bob- Any update?

Joe. :teeth :thup

I spoke with John a few minutes ago. He will be in the hospital over the weekend. He mentioned that he hoped to get to the "computer room" under his own power, so there is a good chance that he can "update". I can say that he would rather be in Yellowstone!

John is scheduled for two stents tomorrow. He or Edna will call me after the procedure. He plans to stay in the Gainesville area for about a month post procedure. He says "HI" and "thanks" for all of the good thoughts and wishes from the C Brat family!

Those stents keep everything flowing in the future. We keep you good folks in our thoughts and prayers - trust all will be fine and the stents work well.
Best wishes -
