I just spoke with a representative at the factory and was assured that the Decragard wood interior IS INDEED once again available. Just thought this would generate a smile in you Die-Hards!

Charlie-
Thats old news, but thanks for posting
With the replacement of my boat, the factory has decided to offer the wood interier as an option--- more $$ of course.
C-Hawk is due to be in SoCal the first week of April, then the transfer of my equipment from Fishtales to C-Hawk and I'll be back on the water. :beer

Hi Folks,

As the improvements have come to C-Dory, we are beginning to look more as CLOROX BOTTLES. Wood has always been something with boats. The feel you get in a boat, even with wood trim is much more restful that all white interiors.

Even though my boat is as old version, vintage 1983, the use of wood or wood like plastic gives me that feel. Then when I added the stern seat, galley, and shelves using teak plywood, the look has the same feel. Very cosy and like a "yacht" should be.

When I bought my C-Dory, it was the only used C-Dory in New England.

I guess I am a lucky guy.

The Tom Cat I saw at the LA boat show had a molded interior in it, which I don't really mind. What I didn't like was the poor design of the molded interior. They lengthened the dinette (for no good reason that I could think of) and shortened the storage area behind it (what do you always need more of in a boat, storage). They also made the hatches to the storage area under the dinette table so small that the storage area was almost useless. Who ever designed this interior obviously doesn't use boats very often.

I am quite sure that the C Dory 25 thru 2006 did not have a molded interior. My Tom Cat (#39) Jan 2006 has a "wood" interior.

Interestingly, I got an E mail from a person at the C Dory factory asking if I had photos of the area where the captain sat, and basically the view that the captain would see sitting in the seat. I wrote back and sent several photos from my album--asked that person if they couold take photos of the factory boats, and then today called. The person was not in the plant today, so I don't know why they don't have photos. When this person responds, I will ask about the interiors of the latest boats.

Both the CD 22 and 25 Cruisers went to the molded cabinets over a year ago. Word at the Factory open house during the 08 SBS was the 22 Cruiser would go back to the wood cabinets. The 22 Angler has always had the wood cabinets and the 25 Cruiser would retain the molded cabinets.

Here is one photo of the molded cabinets on the CD 25 Cruiser from 12-06:

As a frame of reference, our CD-25 was one of the first 07 model year boats (took delivery at the end of July 06) and it has the decreguard interior. The change to the molded interior must have been after that point.

We have had molded interiors in different sailboats and never found them to be a problem. I've heard the "Clorox bottle" term tossed about, but they are easy to maintain. We had no problem cutting into and modifying those interiors to fit our needs. As long as the interior doesn't hide wiring or plumbing, I don't really see much of a difference.
