What's Up With All the Ads

Maybe I missed discussion on this already. But what's up with all the ads. I thought that ads were only shown to non-members or people not logged in. Previously I read that it was enough to support the site financially.

Will we be expecting membership fees in the future?? :(
 
We have to realize that the moderators support this site out of their own pockets. The ads are a small price to pay for such a great site.
 
ACTUALLY, I SAT WITH THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE EARLIER TODAY AND WE HAVE DECIDED THE 2008 ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUES WILL BE
$225.00 FOR AN INDIVIDUAL AND $275.00 FOR FAMILY MEMBERSHIP.
OUR ACTUAL FIGURES WHERE FAR HIGHER BUT AFTER MUCH DEBATE WE DECIDED TO REDUCE THEM TO OUR CURRENT LEVEL, STATE ABOVE.
YOUR MEMBERSHIP IS OF VALUE TO US AND THEREFORE WE HAVE EXTENDED TO COLLECTION DEADLINE TO FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 2008.
PLEASE SEND YOU CHECK OR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AS WE WOULD PREFER NOT TO CANCEL ANY LONGTERM MEMBERS.
SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS DECISION, PLEASE CONTACT EITHER CAPT. MATT OR MR. CAPT. BYRDMAN.

My apologies to our valued customers for Captain Pat's post. It was a breach of C-Brats.com Incorporated trade secrets, and details of our capital raising plans from our most recent Board of Directors Meeting were supposed to remain under wraps.

Captain Pat - while we certainly appreciate your $20M USD purchase of C-Brats.com stock, I feel compelled to remind you of your 30% minority shareholder status. TyBoo and I still control 35% each of outstanding C-Brat shares, so please allow us to make official announcements of C-Brats.com membership changes in the future.

And relax, everyone...the memberships are only going to be $100 for individuals. However, prices for couples will be $300, and family membership will be $1000. We're trying to encourage a more swinging single atmosphere around here - that's where the real bucks are.
 
I guess I should check in more often. I was under the assumption that Bill and Mike were raising money to purchase C-Dory the company. That way they could not only provide us with a pub, social group and forum, they could also solve all of the C-Dory quality problems for us.

Mike, check out in your driveway, I've left Bess-C there so you can check for cracks in the transom.

And I expect young women with great knot tying skills pay no membership at all.

Just when we thought you folks would be safe and fun to hang out with. Now we will be forced to show up as non members and anchor away from the dues paying raft.

We're doing away with the picnic shelter.

Thanks to our recent influx of cash, construction is under way on the C-Brat Love Shack.

I gotta say...the gang in that vid would fit right in here. Perhaps I should drop them an invite.

Yeah right, as if I'm gonna find some young women willing to tie an old man like me up in knots...... :mrgreen: ......they're more apt to secure me to an anchor and lower me away to Davy Jones Locker.... :disgust

Perhaps, they'll be kind to me if I pay my membership dues... :wink

Sorry I brought it up, really, I appreciate this site too.

Unfortunately I don't have time to read all the posts that are put on the forum.

I just liked the old post that said that the expenses were all covered by the voyeurs who didn't register. I was really impressed by that way of running a forum. But....all must change.
 
Now that April 1st has passed, I have an issue that must be brought to light: the $20M USD that Captain Pat paid has secured him 30% ownership??? What about the $20M USD that we sent??? So, let's see... Bill has 35%, Mike has 35%, Pat has 30%, I have 30%, and I recall overhearing several other brats who said THEY bought in, too... so, thats, what - 250%?

I am appalled - I used the profits from the transaction with the nice gentleman who needed to move funds out of Africa to buy into the place. I"m OK with the accounting procedures used to get to the 250% total stock ownership, but I must take exception with the new turn the membership committee has taken - swinging singles, indeed! I would go through my old spam folder to find the e-mails for, um... enhancements that will make me more desirable, but Joan still won't let me date!

No...but as a direct result of our new focus on youthful singles, there will be a surcharge for those with aging transom cracks.

Membership for chubby cats was already established at $100 unless they came in pairs and then the membership is $300. With kittens simply add $700 to the couples price.
