What did santa get for the c-dory?

I bought a "little dipper" crockpot for SeaDNA. It's good for warming soup/stew and it only draws 35W so I can run it off of the cheap cigarette lighter inverter. Also got another small crockpot (125W) that I can use for cooking. Both can run off of my cheap inverter. It wasn't until I opened the package on the little dipper that I discovered it's not designed for cooking raw meats so the bigger one will be required for anything but re-heating soups and stews.

Santa's a little late on one gift but rumor has it that Ms. Claus has a new Shimano Tekota 500 LC (a line counter bait casting reel) on order for me. I think that leaving the empty box of the one I bought last year on her pillow helped. I love that reel and ordered another one so my guests will have a nice reel when using my gear. The line counter model is particularly good for bottom fishing or for knowing exactly how far out you are trolling (with divers or banana weights).

Seahooked is getting bottom paint in advance of the move from Edmonds dry storage to covered moorage next month. She's getting sanded, five coats of epoxy, two coats of Interlux Micron 66, zincs on the trim tabs; $1500 from Rojas Fiberglass Repair (thanks to Sarge's recommendation).

Merry Christmas All,

Hi Folks,

The Inn is on the market. Hopefully, Santa will bring "time" to do some serious cruising in New England.

Projects this winter are to finish off all the "work in process" additional shelves, more ventilation in the cabin, paint the bottom (I do this myself by blocking the trailer, and then jacking each side up, put a small block between the trailer and boat, and crawl under the boat, sand and paint. Most important, leaving wax paper between the painted bottom and the trailer boards.)

Not for the boat, but OF the boat... Santa brought Joan a digital frame. I loaded it up with a couple hundred images from our travels with the boat. A press of the remote, and we are seeing a slide show of all the places, faces, and good times we've enjoyed while cruising. A bright, crisp screen - and wonderful memories.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

SEA3PO got a new Yamaha generator...the plan is to have a mount made to hold it just forward of the outboards.....so Sue can have heat and lights at night..... Me...I just go to bed early....but she likes to read and I am always afraid she is going to kill the batteries ....that I will replace in May when her retirement starts.....

Dora~Jean just got restocked with renewed cruising supplies as needed, fresh water, topped off Wallas heater tank, and will be uncovered tomorrow morning, we're heading to Catalina to give her some exercise! Taking my daughter and fiance, 3 days, 2 nights, should be lots of fun...

Here's hoping the Santa Ana winds die down a bit, they've kicked up the seas, will make final decision at the breakwater -- 75 miles from here!

When the Doctor got done putting in a stent for Dee, he told me she couldn't scrub the boat for four days. I got her a new short handled mop from West Marine for Xmas. She gets to play with her new toy today. I made her wait till after Santa brought it to her. She gets her last prescription today and we set sail in the morning, up[ the St. Johns.

Mrs Dee says the boat has had the last 365 days to collect toys and enough is enough. She didn't even appreciate the mop. What an attitude!
Makes me think I should have named the boat something else. Oh well it is all water under the hull. She told me I will be boating more like the
Byrdman. Sounds like it just might be Byrdman and me to the Bahamas and she will fly over. "Stay tuned for the rest of the story."

Jim, which brand of digital frame did you end up getting? I have not looked seriously for one but it seems like there are so many out there that there are probably QC and design issues with many of the knock-offs.

Caryn, I mean Santa, bought me a Dremel tool with tons of accessories. Now I can drill and fill holes like Seawolf Joe and Thataway Bob!

Well, the gift is not directly for SEACOASTER, but a 13 week course for the pilot with the Coast Guard Auxiliary will certainly make life more comfortable and less stressful for such a fine boat. That will also make it possible for fun trips with other lively cousins and their C-Brats

Jay,

Let me know when you have the radio in it. I'll give you a call and make motor noises in the background.

Congrats on the new boat. Plan your first trip in early April and I might see you out in PWS. Unless you take it Homer for the Winter King Tournament.

Tom

Hi Tom,

Triple J have a radio so start making noise, I’ll be trying to get out in PWS as early as possible. Plan on going south in March to hall her back and do a few mods before venturing out on our first trip.
I’ll be fashioning a makeshift cover for the cockpit first thing then adding fish finder, trim tabs, wash down, and duel battery set up with 4 why switch. Don’t know if I’ll get it all done before first trip depends on Mother Nature.
While down in Seattle area this weekend we'll hopefully take Triple J out for our first cruise.
Look forward to seeing you on Alaskan water this summer or early spring,

Whoopie! Santa got us a new (to us) tow vehicle! It is a really immaculate 2004 Nissan Titan crew cab with four wheel drive and a factory tow package rated for 9,400 lbs. Also has a dandy canopy and bed liner. Now, we did not trade in the 1997 Ford Expedition, which looks good and runs like a top...so, before I put it on Craigslist, any C-Brat looking for a relatively inexpensive tow vehicle, please PM with your interest. We towed the CD22 for two years and the CD25 for three years without a single problem. We will make a good deal to somebody on the Expedition! Here is a pic from 2003 when we brought the CD22 home from the Kent factory.

Well Santa brought the new Hammerhead a Newport rod holder mount gas grill. with that most of what the dirty thieves took when they stole and stripped the first hammerhead has been replaced. :xlol

Shes 2 yrs newer a 2003 and has scotty elec downriggers and a new vhf radio with raymarine C120 electronics package complete with radar and digital fishfinder as well as an elec anchor windless.

Now lets hope the salmon season in 2008 is better than the one one last year. I know the poor fishermen who make there living on the coast need it badly. All the best to all you cbrats in the coming year. :smiled

Santa bought My Heaven a windlass :smileo and shore power with 12amp battery charger. And finally her name is on her with the matching reg numbers.

In addition, my brother in law bought us a marine cooler! Oh I can't forget the high speed tackle box either.... :xseek
I am most excited that I no longer need to go out to the bow to lower the anchor in the pouring down rain! :thup This will make it more enjoyable fishing too when we pick up and let down several times in a day.

a satellite radio
an ipod
a bose docking station..
a set of nice cooking pots
deck chairs

life is good.....

Merry Christmas All

C for Two is getting a shiny new grill so her people can expand their food options.

Two Lucky Fish got a new grill as well, a shiny Magma Kettle2. I've created a mount for it using the Scotty downrigger plates...can you believe Magma doesn't make grill mounts for downrigger mounts? Amazing!

My new grill is an Outer Banks, and it didn't come with mounts either. Or a gas canister. But we've got them now, and just need summer to hurry up and get here!
