Thataway's Bob Under The Bright Lights/Blade

hi bob,
sounds like you're in the best of company and have a good handle on your course.
when you're tired of cleveland and set your sails for a more southernly port, stop by cincinnati or lake cumberland and linda and i will treat you and your bride to an outstanding dinner, not to mention a very fine bottle of wine.
i will email my cell phone number direct to you.
best regards
pat

Pat, hopefully we will take you up on that in a week or so. My lovely daughter arrived at 7 AM--Red eye via Las Vegas. It is a joy to have her here. We spent the afternoon in the local botonical garden.

We met with the invasive cardiologist this AM. We have confidence.

One thing to remember in Medicine, is that there are various levels of medical competence. The best is generally in the major medical centers--down to the small local hospitals, with regional medical centers inbetween.

We had found the Pensacola care very adequate, until we came to this level of problem. Here we find a good cardiologist who has done thousands of similar proceedures--yet our very good local invasive cardiologist was afraid to do this proceedure.

We have the proceedure tomarrow, and all is "go" at this point.

Dr. Bob,
You have the love, respect, and best wishes from all of us here. I've seen posts from you today... still helping, giving great advice, and doing it all with great thoughtfulness. You are an amazing guy. Glad to hear your daughter is there, your friends are there, and all is in place as you and Marie planned.

We hope you rest easy tonight, secure in the fact that you are in the best place to have this done. I'd wish you the best of luck, but you have the top of the profession, the timing, and the results of your research working for you. :thup

You doctor-folks probably have something profound to say at moments like this... we just want you to know that we're all in your corner.

Best wishes,
Jim & Joan Bathurst

Great News. We can uncross our fingers, toes and everything else now.
As my Mom used to say, Dr's and Nurses make the world's worst patients so hope you can keep him quiet for a few days.

Glad to hear that the surgery went well, hope the recovery goes just as well.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Captain and crew of "Thataway"

Dr. Bob,
That's wonderfully encouraging news from your friend Wayne. As someone who is a member of "The Zipper Club" himself I can readily appreciate anything that the doctors can so competently accomplish without that invasive procedure.
We are praying for your smooth and rapid recovery. As total newbies to the C- dory world, we sure value your thoughtful and informative posts and hope you will be back with us shortly.

Dr. Bob,
Glad all wentand no surgery was required!! Best to save the bypass for never, or another day. Hope your leg/groin is feeling OK.

Looking forward to meeting up someday.

Fantastic news -- hope the recovery is smooth as well.

Re the local cardiologist who was reluctant to do the procedure . . it is a huge confidence builder that (a) he was forthright enough to be clear about his reservations, and (b) there was a doc elsewhere who has done this procedure many times, and is fully competent and experienced to do it for 'our' Dr. Bob. The best of both worlds. The last thing needed is for a lesser experienced practitioner (in any field (including boat repair)), to leap in over his/her head, with less than optimal results.

Whew -- A big sigh of relief from this end!

Good luck, Dr. B., and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
