Spare Trailer Hub

I've been thinking that it probably behooves me to carry a spare hub for our EZ Loader trailer when travelling longer distances. Can anyone tell me the method and required tools to change a hub while on the road?

Jody, I think I am going to check with EZ Loader to see if I can get a spindle and hub for the trailer. I am not sure how mine is attached, but if it can be done, it would sure be better than being beside the road with a galled spindle on a single axle trailer. I think that Barry(?) has one for his trailer.

We have the oilbath hubs so no spare but I am thinking about what kit to put together as we are driving to Lake Powell, our longest tow. I think I will contact EZ Loader for information.

Barry, would you please post that info when you get it... I was going to call them, but I suspect that just one of us would do. If you get a chance to ask about a single axle, mine is a 3700#.

Thanks in Advance,

Steve

Post script: Glad to hear that the alarm was just the trim sensor/indicator!

The last picture in the Trailer Mods. sub album, has a listing of the stuff I carry in a trailer bag on longer trips. I actually carry 2 complete idler hubs now. They were fairly inexpensive. I have brakes on only 1 axle on the EZ-load
