We are thinking of spending the Christmas and New Year Holidays in San Carlos, Mexico along of course with our CD22. We have a number of questions that maybe some members can answer. Has anyone of the C-Brats site boated San Carlos this time of year? How was your experience? Any predictions on weather (I have not yet invested in radar)? We will most likely do day excursions (staying in a hotel at the marina) with maybe an overnight if we find a nice cove (any suggestions on good places to see?). Weather permitting we might go across the Sea of Cortez to the Baja. We will of course get insurance for travel and on the water. What about the availability of gas at the docks going north of San Carlos on the mainland side? We have a dingy (without an outboard) and could get to shore with two 5-gallon gas cans and find a filling station to get gas if there is none at the docks. We will use bottled water for drinking but what condition is the water at the docks for filling the CD22 water tank. Can that water be used to wash vegetables, etc? Do we really need to Clorox it? Read on “THE LOG” that adding a bottle of white wine to the water tank several hours after the use of Clorox greatly improves the taste (think I'd just as soon drink the wine). Do the harbormasters speak English (Patty is fluent in Spanish but shy about using the VHF)? What other questions should we be asking? Ohoooo, by the way if anyone would like to join us, any and all are welcome! :xseek
