Oh no, how could this happen?

I was perfectly happy with my CD 16 that I bought new a year ago yet...

Just a little more space...

Just a little more quiet...

Just a little more weatherproofing...

Just a little more comfort...

Just a little more BOAT!

Whatever y'all have, it's contagious. Like so many of you, I now have TWO C Dories! Bought a nice looking 07 that I will pick up later this month.

I used my 16 extensively for day trips at the local lakes. The new boat will be for weekend long EXPEDITIONS crossing, perhaps, State Lines.

For various reasons, I found myself woefully short on vacation time this year and woefully long on the need to float for more than an afternoon. I decided that local cruising in the Carolinas was just too convenient and relaxing so I HAD to get a 22. Really, it was out of my hands.

I will soon post my pristine, one year old 16 in the for sale section.

There's no cure, right?

No, I'm sorry, there is no cure. Luckily, your new C-Dory can serve as a hospice in which to spend your final four or five decades... All the best, man. My condolences...

Nope, no cure. I went through the same 'issue.' Fortunately, I think we've settled on the final solution...our TC24. Penny says it is, and I believe it.

It is a natural progression of man to grow, to look over the hill top, to stay, just a little bit longer, to go just a little bit farther and we call it progress, progression and in some communities, it is know as 2 foot-itis. We have seen it here before, there is no cure, but there is treatment, which restores the soul, maintains the sanity, and in most cases provides for a long and happy life.

Hang in there, hang on, there is hope. They still make a 25 :wink

But look on the bright side: he took "3 steps" all at once! (No offense to 18 and 19 owners.)

I like Tom. He has been "C-Dory curious" for years, and he likes to boat shop. Like many of us, he came to this from sailing. I was pretty sure that once he tried one of these boats that he'd join us. He's going to really enjoy that 22. Anyone with a 25 or a TC that they're anticipating selling in a year or so might want to get to know Tom better.

As a side note: he also has a nice Hunter 28 sailboat that will be joining his 16 on the market.

Congrats on the new boat, Tom!

Best wishes,
Jim

I had intended on getting a 22. Meredith took one step into the cabin and said "Oh, no. This is too small". The rest is history. From 16 to 22...you've just skipped a few and will enjoy it thoroughly.

Hey wait a minute.. I had a 22 and then got a 16. Now I'm looking for a 14. Then again my motto is "don't just do something, sit there..."

As I served in both the USMC and Army I will stay out of that fight, but when you come up with a price I would like to be on the notice list.

So many squid jokes at hand, so many rules to keep it nice on the c-brats...lol Suffice to say, retirednavy and I are destined to banter over a cool beverage one summer evening. I would prefer the West coast...lol

I will be in Portland sometime this year. I can let you know when after my work schedule firms up :beer :beer :beer :beer :beer :beer :beer

I love my boat I had Tomcat #1 hull and it was great but it burned about 12 Gal per hour at cruise. It was also to big my big block suburban was almost to small to really go with it. Now th 22 is great it is a little small boat we call it the LBC the little boat that could. I have had it at the Flower Gardens which is 84 naugt miles off Freeport but have not been brave enought to do Boom Vang. Since I installed the new twins the boat has been even better. It will will now crusie about 21.5 mph at about 4200
rpm. The fuel burn is also a lot better then the 90 Honda [Carb 90]. About
4 gals. per at 4200 hundred rpm. And the wild thing is it sounds like a real hotrod if you punch it it will turn 6300 rpm and on the gps 37 mph or a little above. Actually I think the motors are a little low the cavation plates are still under water at cruise speed, At that speed the boat is a real handfull worse then race boats I have gone over a 100 mph in but I had to see what it would do. It will also plane on 1 engine when I say that 12 to 14 mph but it is still on plane.

I would love to check out the 25 without having to drive to Alliance. I have been on Osprey,a 22 and it was very nice. I need to get my wife on a larger boat than the 22. Have you been on a Tomcat as well?

And, if you want to show her a TC255, I've still got two (until Captain's Cat's new owner picks her up). Both are ready to put to sea. We're about 2 hours from you.

I want to show her both but she is hesitant. I think she thinks that once I step foot on one it will be a done deal and I'll never be home on weekends. Thank you both very much. With any luck I'll be taking you both up on your offers in the not so distant future....
