NORO LIM has a new home

We’ve sold our NORO LIM.
When we bought the boat, we had planned to concentrate on using it for 10 years. Well, eight and a half years later, our circumstances and the unexpected appearance of just the right buyer collided to produce a sale. It was a very quick and extremely pleasant process with no time for dithering or second guessing - and I’m confident NORO LIM is in good hands.
NORO LIM allowed me to realize what had once seemed just an impossible dream – not once, but three times. Three times she carried us safely and in comfort more than 2,000 miles up the Inside Passage and back. She took us on many shorter adventures, too, and never once complained. No breakdowns, no problems, no fears.
Whether or not there is ever another boat in our lives, I hope to hang around this place. I plan to continue living the boating life, vicariously at least. (I may also occasionally annoy people with unsolicited advice.) I have learned more from many of you C-Brats than you could ever imagine. Not that long ago, it would have been laughable to think I’d be rewiring things, dabbling in fiberglass work, trouble-shooting electronics, installing heaters and radars, and mastering (sort of) anchoring and a myriad of other boaty stuff.
I trust the new owners will get as much from all of you as I have, and will pursue their dreams of adventure with NORO LIM. I fully expect you to hear from them soon.
I’ve got a great stockpile of glorious memories of my own – more than enough to last the duration.

Bill-

Congratulations on the sale!

Nice thoughtful and sincere post. Thanks!

Glad you'll be staying around with all your C-Brat friends!

This is a great extended family and home away from home. Love it!

Joe. :teeth :thup

We hope so, too. Actually, it is required. We never let friends go.

Thanks for your very kind words. Best of everything to you and I hope the next year and a half isn't too rough.

We went through the same about 4 months ago. I still look in here regularly. This place, and the good folks who participate here, are special. They accepted and encouraged us before we bought a C-Dory and haven't run us off since.

Best wishes,
Jim

Bill, I am not sure we ever met...I think I saw Noro Lim at Zittles, that is where you kept her, no? Anyway, whatever there is in your future, please always be a C-Brat!

Yup, Zittel's was our home port.

We did pass each other once, just briefly, at the now burned-out factory in Ferndale. (You may have had your arms full of a case of some libation or other. :D ) Regardless, you are one of many people around this place whom I have never really met, but feel strangely familiar with (in a good way, Pat, in a good way.). I frequently talk to other people about the folks here as though I'd been hanging out in bars with C-brats for years. In fact, I don't think of myself as antisocial in any way, but I do generally prefer to experience many adventures - including boating - in a mostly solitary fashion. (90% of the hundreds of hikes and climbs I've done have been with my brother - almost all of my boating has been just with my wife.) I've actually only met a handful of you personally, yet I do feel very close to many of you through our sharing of ideas and experiences. As one of you - I hope I may say "As one of us" - has been known to exclaim, "God, I love this place."

You won't be easily rid of me - besides, somebody has to stand up for lawyers once in a while, Pat, and Lord knows, allies are hard to come by in that war.

Bill, your seas have have been both calm and stormy and, like all good captains, you brought your vessel through. Here's wishing you all the best in whatever comes your way .I'm proud to say "we're all in the same boat".

Thanks so much for the kind words Bill. I have to tell everybody if you have never met Bill; he is one the most Nobel men you will ever meet. It seems so rare to meet individuals as straight and honest as he these days... It was an honor to meet you Bill, and we are elated with Noro Lim. I mentioned to Bill that I am very much a :lurker:, and I will try to be more extroverted. I will begin by sharing a few mods already done to Noro Lim. Granted, Bill has done numerous mods to Noro Lim of exceptional craftsmanship, but we had a few to add (fishing related). Keep you eyes peeled for Bluez Cruz mods in the appropriate area. So here is a shout out to Bill and Hello Fellow C-Brats!

Welcome, Bluez Cruz!

I have often times admired the many great mods Bill made to Noro Lim. You got a great boat, and Bill gets the good feeling of knowing his boat went to an appreciative new home.

Now it will be fun to see your new mods (and maybe re-visiting some of the existing ones).
