Unfortunately the picture doesn't show any landmarks but I am pretty sure I was the first C-Dory to ever pass through this National Monument. I got a lot strange looks.
I've never been to Alaska on my own boat (yet!), but I took my girls on an Alaskan cruise once and one of the optional ($$$!) shore excursions was a nature cruise out of Juneau. The photo reminded me of that cruise -- I am happy that I remembered it correctly even if I can't be more specific.
Yes, that's right. We fueled at Kake between Petersburg and Juneau so we could make the side trip up the Tracy Arm. The totem pole (as we understand it) is the world's tallest at 132.5 feet and was featured at the World's Fair in Japan. Kake is on the north end of Kuprenof Island. We saw Humpback Whales bubble feeding heading north and south on our trip in 2007 and also Orcas in this area.
