New Photo Game

I agree with Larry, Little Harbor, South side of Catalina about 4 miles East of Cat Harbor. Never seen it from this perspective though, nice day!

Yes in deed. Thank you Jim. This is lock number E 32 at Pittsford, New York. I think a few C-Dorys have made their way up and then down to Lake Erie from the Hudson River.

I went to school at RIT in Rochester for two years ('72-'73) and never made it to the Canal or Lake Ontario. When I look back, I wonder what I was thinking. I guess it was a case if you can remember the late '60s and early '70s you weren't really there!

I did make it to the Adirondacks and Nova Scotia, though.

OK, here's the next image for the contest...

Hint: it's NOT Lake Powell

And for Pat - Tom and I are good. Really. We've PM'd nice stuff back and forth... we just don't do that here. He is my muse and I am the outlet for his pent-up frustrations and anxiety from the lack of sunshine.

It's all good. :D

Best wishes,
Jim

Ding, ding ding and ding.
Larry H, Steve, Roger and Knotty C are correct.
That is a photo of Little Harbor and Shark Harbor taken from the "old world bus ride" from Two Harbors to Avalon.
It is on the west (ocean) side of the island looking north.
Being on the ocean side, it is one of the better surfing sites on the island.

Jim B. started this thread with the statement that, "The experience on this forum is wide ranging." I have watched the thread develop with a true sense of awe at all of you. The posts are great, the guesses are good and there is often little correlation between the geography of the winners and guessers on one hand and the picture poster who has been there. Here is another way to look at this thread:

A guy from the Tropical Tip of Texas posts a picture of Deception Pass. A brewer from Washington posts a Chesapeake photo he took which is identified by a guy from Ohio. A guy from Washington State posts a picture of the Erie Canal 1/4 mile from my mother in law's house which is identified by a guy from Michigan and that guy from Texas who gets around. Unfortunately, the guy who spent 2 years a few miles from the site of the picture in 72-73 never saw the Canal and is left to wonder what he was thinking back then. And, all of that is before El and Bill even weigh in!

I rest my case as to the amazing nature of the C-Brats and how they use their boats. I would wager to say that there is no other list where this thread could have been as wide ranging and fast paced based on the personal boating experiences of the members.

CONGRATS to all of you for making this place what it is and keep it up.
