Just to say hi and introduce myself as advised by Bob Austin. I hope this is the correct place.
My wife Cynthia, and I are both Mississippi river rats from Minnesota originally, now retired and living in Stuart Fl. We currently have a Mainship Pilot 30 and will be stepping up to a trailerable trawler in the reasonable future. We think that will be a C-Dory 25 cruiser but we haven't been close to one yet. We would like to get together with an owner of a CD 25 in South Florida either east or west coast area sometime to learn and see one up close.
We have lived full time aboard our trawlers for 12 yrs and just moved to dirt when we came to Fl. from Annapolis area (I'm a retired yacht broker) a couple of years ago. During those years we have cruised the east coast from Boston to Stuart several times. Like many others we were sailors before that. We had a Sea and Sport 16 Dory until a few months ago and we love the dory design.
I have read and learned much from this site for a few months and I like the boats and the people here so I joined. Great knowledge base and pics.
We live on the St. Lucie south fork and would be happy to be of assistance to C-Brats passing through if needed. I guess that's enough rambling for now. I look forward to learning much more from you as I keep reading , Thanks, Bob Bean

Welcome--you have gone the route which many of us have--sail to trawlers and then to the trailerable..not really a trawler--but in-between. It opens up the whole North America for some new cruising grounds.

I was serious about coming up to Apalachicola the 25th thru 27th of October. The best oysters fresh out of the bay--and unbelievable food courtesy of Marc Grove of Wefing's. There should be at least one C Dory 25 there. Plus a whole bevy of C Brats.

Alexander, Welcome. Looks like you are making good choices. Stick around and enjoy. We learn from each other here and it is always fun.

Please come and join us ! I cant imagine a Gulf Coast Gathering without a few 25 Cruisers .
We have an interesting selection of boats here . All on trailers !

Welcome aboard. I think you will find the C-Dory 25 to be a very capable cruiser, opening up plenty of new options for places to cruise. Ours has been coast to coast to coast.

This forum is a great resource - friendly folks, good advice, plenty of photos and cruise tales. I'll second Bob's suggestion to visit with Marc at Wefings and take in the gathering at Apalachicola.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Thank you all. We'll try for the Oct gathering. We have a son's wedding in California and a visit to Dad (96) in Mn to schedule too.
Jim and Joan, I've read all 184 pages of your journeys and loved it. Thank you.
