New C-Dory 29'

Yeah, you have to admire a guy who made $50 billion with an OS that almost works...(sorry, Dave, couldn't help myself).

Like Microsoft's Windows, it'll take a few iterations before we can really say it sucks. Which, like Windows, may NOT mean it isn't wildly successful.... :sad

Can't wait to get back up to the NW and pick up my new boat this month. I think I am going to love her.

Tom: Glad to see you on the brat site. Some of the talk at the docks during Bellinghame left many wondering if the factory cared or looked in of late.

See some of yall mid month.

Does anybody else think that the 29 looks like an Orca with an extended C-Dory cabin?

I know that Catalina has done this with several boats (both Catalina 38's for example.) It's a good way to get a new boat with minimum tooling.

Interesting. The Yacht World site gives a cruising speed of 18 knots and top speed of 26 knots. Be interesting to see how these hold up with a loaded boat. As I recollect Lathum gave a cruising of 18 to 20 mph and a top of 30 mph which are fairly close to these numbers.

That's pretty funny, the "running shots" on the Yachtworld site of the the boat at the dock are the pictures I took at Cap Sante. The boat was waiting alongside the lift to be hauled out the day after the sea trial.

If these are the photos, and they sure look like them, here we go again. What puzzles me is why C Dory doesn't put this stuff up on their web site, and provide it to the dealers? I may have missed it, but I just visited the C Dory web site, and absolutely no mention of the new 29 Venture.

My first thought looking at the boat, is that it is running very level. But there is a bit of a rooster tail. Probably due to the tunnel. The Tom Cats' have a rooster tail, but most of the C D models don't perticularly have the tail.

I just looked at Yachtworld's (Seattle) website with the pictures I took of the 29 again and at the bottom of the page it says:

Use of this site is subject to our terms of use, which prohibit commercial use of our site. By continuing past this page, you agree to abide by these terms.

Guess they don't practice what they preach.

They pictures are certainly available to download from my Anna Leigh album. But hey.

Marty-

I looks through the entire six pages of C-Dory members, and Mr. E's C is the only one with photos.

I think these are Lyle's photos, the previous owner of the 14 pictured above by Pat. He owned the 14 and a 16 at the same time!!!

Then there was the C-Dory 14 used as a tender that Jay and Jolene saw and then visited with the owner's on their vouage up to Alaska's northern part of the SE Alaska venue:
