Naming a boat

You can put any name you wish on an undocumented pleasure craft--but be sure it cannot be confused with some other type of vessel, is not a racial slur, is not obscenity or profanity and not easily confused with a distress message. For example "101" might be confused with "Coast Guard Rescue 101" or. Patrol 101". "el Medico" confused with "Pan Pan Medico" which means in international distress signals, "I am coming to the facility (harbor, dock etc) with a medical emergency, have an ambulance/medical personal available". The name should be easy to pronounce, is best short and memorable. It will be used on the radio. There are some in poor taste--but that is a reflection on the boat owner.

Yes, bad taste in boat names is, well, a reflection on the owner.

Such as this one I saw a while back: Bow Movement

Aye.
Grandma used to say, "We don't see the world as it is. We see it as we are."

After the Eagle Claw baitholder hook that got me into fishing and then boating. Over fifty years now of using #6 hooks. Now to find the boat. That will be a while til I'm shopping.
