I just could not resist...I finally spent the time and really did a paint job on the ole girl...even new bottom paint...I installed some new items too.
I found an Antique Mississippi River Boat Search Light on EBAY..so old it was before electric lights...and it was made by Perko...neat...I still have to install a lamp into it...but just could not wait to put it on the tug...

Season just started here...Yesterday I did five dives into the really cold snow melt water...down to about 50'...mostly bouy jobs...and one recovery of an antique gas cap/ $300 sunglasses...Ha ! that one was the easiest but also the deepest... today my ears hurt from such cold water..

What Great Fun...I call it Diving for Dollars...(pays for C-Dory toys)

Looks good! But that cold water! I have a pre 1900 Perko riding light (kerosene--had been converted to electric and back to Kerosene.) Perko still had the burner. Real glass Fresnel lens.

Have fun this summer, and find lots of dollars.

I will have to write Perko and ask them for parts....they still sell that same spotlight only now it is electric...

Today I am filling tanks, cleaning gear and taking a easy day...

Joel-

I love the looks of that boat, "Kea"!

I remember a few years ago when you had the boat blown up on the shore of Lake Almanor by a severe storm!

Are you sure you wouldn't like to remake the movie "The African Queen" with your boat, yourself, and some 20-30 year old Hollywood Hottie???

The shallows at the north end of the lake have all the weeds and scenery you'd need! (Were there crocodiles in the movie?)

Have a a great weekend!

Joe. :teeth :thup

Susan,
We have some spare alligators behind our house--do you want one shipped up there? I fear that they will not do well because of the cold water! I'll let someone else provide the Hotties...

I just posted some more pictures....I especially like the one of Sue as we were coming along a dock.... She does not like it, but it shows the tug in action..

It was a good day....the water is still really cold, and especially high....it was 47' deep just 30 ' off shore..in this place...usually about 35'....lake is really high, they can't release much water as the lakes downstream are also to capacity.

Great pictures Joel! That boat is awesome and so is your "First Mate". Marcia does the same thing and I couldn't handle the MARCIA JANE without her. See you at Catalina.

The business here has been good this year...Today Sue and I are off to replace the end of a wood dock....I pre-fab'd the end using a 10' chunk of 4 X 10" and 3/4" bolts...should be super strong, but also heavy...I will need Susan's help today... dock is in the water so we will be getting wet...

Fun in the water

Joel,
I thought that Susan just retired. It seems to me you'd better be careful with working her so hard, she just might decide to "un-retire" and go back to teaching. LOL.......(then again.....maybe that is your plan.... )
