madi's bunk

we lost our littlest crew member yesterday. Madison was 17 1/2 years old and dealing with cancer. Our vet came to the house and very gently and with much kindness allowed Madi to pass. Not many Brats met madi as we've only had our boat a short while and our gathering last summer was too hot for such a little old dog. She shared all of our adventures wether car rides, sailing trips, c dorying or even being strapped in a Cessna 172 for a flight against school rules. she didn't have a mean moment in all those years and we will miss her greatly. Her legacy will carry on on our 19 Madi's Bunk. Our very first ride in the new boat, I was a couple minutes out and asked Brenda how Madi was doing. It was her first power boat ride. Brenda said " sneak a look" Madi was flaked out on her side by the splashwell having a snooze already. Hence the boat name. She loved her chow and her snoozes right to the end.

It is a testament to Madi and her people that such a sad message post can leave someone with a warm feeling. Thank you for sharing this.

All the best thoughts,

Mike

I take my dog Roxy everywhere with me.... and know that someday I will be in your place... my thoughts are with you...thank you for sharing.

Marie and I send our sympathy. We know what it is to loose such a close friend. Now, about 4 months after our loss of Miss Priss, Marie is ready for a new adventure--but the new dog, will never replace the one which passed. We hope that you are able to find joy in a new good friend some time before long--It will never replace Madison, but will give you lots of love!

Yes, many of us know the hurt of losing a furry family member. Our hearts to out to you. You have a wonderful legacy with your boat name, and you will always carry Madi with you in your hearts. Know that you did the last tough act of kindness... our furry kids trust us to take care of them, and you most certainly did.

When we had to put down our sweet Smoke (at almost 22 years old), I said, "Never again." Molly came into our lives and changed our minds. I was heart broken when her time came much too soon. But she taught us much, especially that the joy these critters bring us greatly overshadows what the end brings. I hope in time you will open your hearts to another furry family member... certainly not to replace Madi, but because you have that love to share.

Our sympathies,
Jim & Joan B (and Izzy the travel cat)

Truly sorry for your loss. Here Here to great boating friends passed :beer :beer Missed surely, forgotten never!! :thup
Named my boat ALOYSIUS which was my Father's name. There is most always something in the name of our vessels.

I too know how difficult this time can be. I had to put down my two retrievers last year. For the first time in 25+ years there was no dog in the house or coming to work with me. To this day I get a bit weepy looking at their pictures in my album.

Last December I adopted a 21 month old Golden Retriever with a heart murmur. Miley is a great dog, She's exuberant and a quick study. Next weekend the boat will go in for the season and she will get her first ride aboard the Retriever.

Hold a good thought -

Sorry to hear of your loss.

Sometimes our pets are harder to lose that some of our human loved ones, at least for me (!)

Take care!

Joe. :teeth :thup

How wonderful that you got to share your C Dory time with your little buddy. Surely Madi had a warm and loving life with you.

Judy and I and the Pap's Daisy and Dabber Doo have you and yours on our minds tonight. We love our babies and we have lost our share over the years with SusieQ passing last year. It is never easy to see them go, but for the years of joy they bring us, it is the price we all pay.

We love them all and are better people for it.

God bless you and God bless Madi.
