I've been perusing the adds

The first C Dorys were built in 1981-1982 era. They were true flat iron semi dorys. Those after 1987 (included) were of the current modern semi V bottom hull, the same as today.

The early ones were made for 70 hp two stroke, although a few were 50 hp. I owned a 1993 C Dory, and little over all functional difference than current boats.

I first saw a C-Dory in 1980 in Cabo San Lucas, MX. We were there for Christmas visiting Dixie's parents who wintered there every year.

A couple from Oregon, Ivy and Marge Howard as I recall owned two C-Dory classics. One they kept in Cabo for the winter, and a second they kept in Petersburg AK. for their summers. They must have been built in the late 1970's to already be in Cabo and Alaska in 1980. Can you imagine having a winter and a summer C-Dory?

We spent a few days fishing with them and I vowed to own a C-Dory if I got the chance. I found one in 1990 in the Salt Lake City, Ut. area. A 1984 Classic 22' $14,000 made it ours. We had it until 2003, traded in in on a 2003 TomCat 24'.

Donald,

I traded the 2003 24' TomCat for the 2006 255 TomCat.

I sold the 2006 TC255 in 2020. It was getting harder to launch and load for us as we were in our mid 70's.

The boat I should have kept was a 2006 22' Angler. Rear helm and the best fishing boat I have owned.

We have been retired since Feb. 2002 and boated and RV'ed all over North and Central America.

11 C-Dorys on Boat Trader at the moment. It is unusual to see so many on that site. The only downside to Boat Trader is sometimes the ads linger after the Boat is sold. (I found my boat on Boat Trader by the way. It was not listed on C-Brats site.) Historically, you have to be quick because anything that is a fair deal does not stay on the market long. Good luck with the search.
