Hi,
I just purchased a 2008 22' Center Console. I know I got a screaming deal on the boat, but I'm not sure what the actual value of the boat is. The boat has a 90 hp Honda v-tec. It sits on a single axle, galvenized, EZ Loader trialer. The boat has never been used and since it was purchased it has been stored indoor in a climate controlled area. Does anyone have some idea what the value of this boat is? We are so excited to have this newest addition to our family.

No idea on what the vessel is worth, but it sounds like you got a good deal, and that is what is important.

In order to display a photo (I saw your attempt), you either need to have a photo album (request one from the nerds), or have the image on the web (like Flickr or Photobucket) and then use the address of the image.

The html will look like this... Note, I put a space in the [ img] so it would not display the photo.

And the result is...

Congrats on your new boat!!!

Congratulations! So few of those were made, I think it would be hard to establish a market value, beyond "what the buyer will pay." That said, I had a chance to drive one of the center consoles in Florida a few years ago, and found it to be a great boat. In our home area (south Texas), cabin boats are rare, but shallow draft center consoles are the most popular thing on the water.

I see you are from Jackson Hole area - where are you planning to use the boat?

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Thanks for the feedback. Amazing photo (Wandering Sagebrush)! We plan to use the boat on Jackson Lake in Teton National Park and Yellowstone Lake for shore camping, accessing tributaries for flyfishing, and trolling for trout. Any thoughts on how this boat will shape up for this type of usage?

Ok thanks for your help. Here is a photo of the boat.

Wyomingsurf-

Looks to be in great shape!

I'd put the minimum to maximum values to be generally $20k-$30+k, but as Jim says, it would be worth what someone would be willing to pay for it.

Will make a great fishing boat for your intended use.

Your biggest issues will be lack of covered storage and exposure to the wind and cold when the weather gets challenging.

Have fun, and congratulations!

Joe. :teeth :thup

I've spent quite a bit of time on Jackson Lake, and some on Yellowstone Lake... that boat should be fine for day-tripping/fishing on those lakes. Keep an eye on the weather as it comes over the mountains from the SW. Dress in layers. Good ramp at Bridge Bay at the marina in Yellowstone. Good ramps at Colter Bay, Leeks, and Signal Mountain on Jackson Lake. There is a long waiting list (years) for a slip at Colter Bay, but they do have 6 transient slips that can be rented nightly if you want to leave the boat. Yellowstone almost always has transient slips available.

Should be even more economical than a 22 angler or cruiser, with less weight. Good access all around the boat.

Enjoy!

Best wishes,
Jim B.

As a fishing boat I think its going to rock. Center console fishing boat are big sellers for a reason, they work. Lots of room for up to 4 to fish from. Great for every type of fishing from fly casting to trolling to bait and bobber. You can walk a big fish all the way around the boat. I lost a large silver last year on my 27, maybe 18 lbs, because I could not get around the boat with the cabin and canvas in the way.

You should get good economy with the lighter weight hull. I really like the top and the rod holder on the top rail. Get some down riggers for when the trout go deep in the summer. I would also add a bow mounted trolling motor with remote for trolling and fly casting. It will make sight casting to trout easier if you can move the boat to the right angle. You will not be able to cast over the top, just cast 90 degrees to the boat. You could also add side planer reels to the top so you can run planer boards out to the side of the boat. Great for spring trout that are on top in clear water. Do you need a deck hand??

I would think that Jim's price would be for the bare boat, without motor or trailer....if in new condition.

I would consider what prop you want. The boat is somewhat lighter than the cabin model, but there is the liner, plus T top etc. You will want a lower pitch than a standard outboard for the higher elevation of these lakes. But run it first--15 pitch may be OK for that boat....may drop to 13 pitch.

The CC is primary fishing boat in the Gulf as Jim noted, and my second boat is just that--no T top (only a Bimini which comes down flush when fishing)--I have a 83 lb thrust 24 volt trolling motor as Jim suggested and it makes it a much better fishing boat.
