Does this make Tom the 13th man?
Congrats to the Seattle SeaHawks and their fans. I had Seattle, so it was an especially good game for me. We were with our daughter and son-in-law, so it made for a special evening (game or not). Joan made a wonderful variety of "game snacks"... and I heard on the news that today is the second largest day for food consumption, behind Thanksgiving. Whether Tom likes it or not, it is a national experience... any reason for some good snacking (I always say).
And, some unsolicited advice... From a business point of view, we ran a successful business for over 30 years; national scale clients while based in a small town. Something I learned early on: sometimes you just have to know when to keep your mouth shut. You can do a great job, and some people still won't do business with you... maybe because of a public political affiliation, a charity you support, but often because of their perception of you. Bad-mouthing a beloved local organization (sports team, school, public figure, etc) will turn some people off. People who may be potential clients. Things you say publicly, even when not in a business situation, can affect your business. A wise business person knows it is not smart to intentionally piss off people who may consider doing business with you in the future. Consider the number of people who were ticked off over Tom's comments. Yep, those of us who know him will say, "Oh, that's Tom." Others (who don't post) may think what some others here wrote. And, in a business like real estate sales, how much does one (or two or 100) people who take their business elsewhere cost a broker/sales person in lost potential income?
Sometimes, that "just be nice" rule pays off in ways beyond an internet forum.
