Gas Prices

Unleaded gas at Cap Sante, Anacortes fuel dock, $4.54/USG + sales tax.

Diesel was $3.39/USG + tax. Today I am glad to be buying diesel for my trawler.
 
Bought diesel fuel on Saturday in New Jersey 3.48 a gallon, gas at Costco in Pa. was 3.22 per gallon. White corn 10 for two dollars. :)

We had the truck out last week... and paid 75¢ per gallon less for diesel than last month. Still too high, but it's trending the right way.
 
Things took a turn for the worse. July 2nd local gasoline was 3.22 for regular now July 14th local gas at convience store 3.47 per gallon. Wow! I wonder why such a spike?

Gas prices slowly climbing now out east. The new spin is that the corn is dying from the drought out west ( no doubt) and that ethanol will be scarce and more expensive. Another reason to pull the plug on the idea that ethanol was going to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Plus after those crazies in the fishing boat tried to wake the navy ship and got blasted; that incident is also mentioned as being part of the reason for higher prices. Diesel prices seem to be much more stable than gasoline prices at least around here. Our home heating oil guy has offered a lock in at 3.25 per gallon, I'm still on the fence as to what to do with that. Average gas price 3.53 per gallon locally in Pa. Diesel 3.68 per gallon.

When we stopped for the night at I 15 exit 191 in Calif. (Calico, Peggy Sue's diner). On the West side of the freeway regular was $3.47. On the East Side, it was $4.07! (Two stations on each side) The only thing we could figure was that the owners figured you could afford more for gas going to Vegas, than returning. In S. Calif. Regular seems to be from $3.47 to over $4.00. We paid about $3.97 for diesel.
