I am planning two cruises, one from Tampa Bay south to Charlotte Harbor and the second from Tampa Bay north to Dunedin. Most likely we will travel by the Intercoastal and would appreciate any suggestions for places to visit, eat and ramps in the Charlotte Harbor area and the Dunedin area to pull out.

cruised from homassa springs to everglades city 12/28 - 1/5 via icw and loved every minute of it. We anchored every night except new years eve and we were in everglades city and tied up to a small pier in an even smaller canal and ate supper looking out over the ten thousand islands. We had beautiful weather the entire time. It was easy boating with easily accessible gas, even if it did cost 4.50/gal in everglades city. great trip!

Larryndebbie,
I had heard a recent report that there was only 16" of water at the fuel dock at Everglade city and that a TC 255 was not able to get fuel.

Can you confirm how much water there was at the fuel dock at Everglade city?

Thanks.

Hi Bob,
We're heading out of Naples tomorrow; likely will be stopping in Everglades City and will check out that situation. Then on to the Keys - 10 day forecast looks to be NICE!

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Yes, 16 inches of water in the canal behind glades haven cozy cabins on new years day was about right. We were tied up on the outside dock in the canal and it just so happened we had accidently picked the deep spot where the boats needed to "get up and run" if they could, so we got a few frowns at first until they started admiring the boat. Coming in through the ten thousand islands from the gulf and going up the baron river there was plenty of water all the time. Our depth was blinking 1.6 to 2 feet when we had to go around the edge and under a narrow bridge toget to the only gas available to us. We still had a great time there.
