Canadian C-dory 25' Crusiers in BC

My wife and I are planning to retire on Vancouver Island in a few years and we are planning to buy a C-dory. I would prefer a 25' as I am 6'4" and it would be easier on my head. I have looked at 22' cruisers, but have not been on a 25' yet. Is there anyone in Vancouver, BC or Vancouver Island that has one I can look at in April. If so I would love to have a look at one.

Just a "heads up" for you, Peter - the CD-25 has 6'10" of standing height in the cabin, but the cabin door is much shorter than that... watch your head coming and going.

Great boat. It will be perfect for exploring the area during retirement - so many great places to see by water there! :thup

I can't say for sure, like 100% but I would be willing to bet a whole bunch, Like 99.999999% there will be one or more at the Friday Harbor CBGT (C-Dory Get Together) coming up in May,15-17/2015. There will be about 30+ C-Dory's there, and you can look, talk and ride.

PS: Vancouver Island is a great place. I grew up there, southern end.

Thanks so far for the offers to view C-25 boats. i will check you all out as my journeys take me near your boats. I have yet to see a C-25 and I think I this is the boat for me. If there are any other C-25 boats in BC that I could look at I would appreciate hearing from you. I am planning on buying my retirement boat in about 2017-18, so if you are thinking of selling around this time I might be interested.
 
Hi my wife and I are coming out to BC again this summer and Tom on Icarus and Ron on Meander offered to show us their boats. We will be passing through Campbell River on Sunday April 17 and Powell River on Thursday April 21. If it's possible to see one or both of your boats we would be pleased.
 
Granted the 25 has tons of head room, but only standing not sleeping. My 22 had more head to toe room in the v birth than the 25, I'm 5'10".

So if you don't plan on sleeping that's not a problem.

I love my 25, and for me there is enough room up forward. Just think a 6'4" individual might feel a bit cramped.

Interesting, in that I (6'2" @ 180# and my son at 6'4" @240 # both felt there was more sleeping room in our 25. Part of that may be because we sleep on the diagonal, not straight fore and aft. We did not actually measure the berth--either straight or diagonal...

I know the anchor locker is way bigger on the 25, same year as the 22. Perhaps the larger one on the 25 was a factory mod for the first owner.
 
On journey on, a 2005 C-Dory 25, I have to sleep at an angle because of the V-berth length. I'm 6' 2". But that's OK because Judy is a lot shorter and I can move over on her.

I don't care what the brochure says, the 25 has a shorter V-berth that the 22. However, and this makes all the difference, the 25 has a head.

I concur. I have a bit more sleeping length in the 19 than I did in the 25. I am 6'3" and can also just barely stand up in the cabin too. If I stand fully straight, my head presses against the roof. But I tend to slouch a bit so no problems.

That head in the 25 is a big deal to some, But not most c-brats.
