C-Dory Sightings

over the weekend we saw a tom cat with the name Sea cat in friday harbor. New owner with a 22 at Matia. The Salty which is for rent in Friday harbor. Not to many for the weekend but a few.

Hey Tom, talked to your mother-in-law at Matia while she was waiting for you to make it across. We were out visiting the islands for a week. Never saw so many nice days strung all together up there. Also saw Widgeon, a 22 cruiser at Jones, saw Salty, and spent some time with some folks from Marrowstone Island that own Tomcat Hull #1. They offered us a ride around Orcas Island on saturday but after hearing about your crossing in all the fog I decided to not take the time and head right over on saturday just in case I had to put in some place. Turned out to be a glassy crossing on saturday to Deception Pass. Seemed to be C-Dory's everywhere I looked.

No you talked to my mother or my sister in-law. Wish I could remove the old women from a blood relative to a by marriage status . They told me they had seen you but she forgot your name, damm old people. ( let’s see how long it takes for her to call me, all depends on how fast Ruth can dial a phone.

Saw a nice red striped 22 leaving Everett ramp as we were arriving. Also saw a beautiful big cabined Rosborough out between Mukilteo and Hat Island. Nice day on the water.

There is a plumbing business on Memorial Highway, which branches off from Hwy 20 (going East) and crosses the old bridge into Mount Vernon. The other day a Tom Cat named "Pipe Dream" with Suzuki motors appeared in their lot. That is at least two new Tom Cats in the area recently -- Sea Cat being the other -- Master Marine must be having good luck selling them. How about it Rob, can you get these guys on the forum?

In trying to locate a25' tug I saw on the Tennessee River Sat.. I tried to sort "our C-Dorys" by state and only got 7 pages. It did not show all states that have C-Dorys. Being technically challenged. I must be doing something wrong, Can anyone tell me how to sort and get all to show?
Thanks in advance for your help. Ron

just switch to decending from ascending to get the other half

I saw at least one--maybe two--(before having any drinks) this Saturday at Ft. Mc Crae, Pensacola. The one varified was dark blue trim, no name and canvas bulkhead aft--large cockpit--looked like a 19 or 22 angler? Going to the West it had at least 6 aboard--only sand dunes or other boats that direction. Shortly later it returned going to the East, with only the skipper.

I tried to wave the skipper over--and invite him to join our gang for dinner etc, but no luck.

I thought I saw a 16 with red trim on the ICW--but not sure, since it was some distance a way....gost they must be proliferating!

Incidently the map only puts the pin on the center of the Zip Code. Not sure if there is a way to put it exactly where your house is?

So who or what was the mystery C Dory?

When the maps with the pin placements was first set up, I believe mention was made that purposely the pins were not placed exactly at the C-Dory owner's place of residence. It was programed this way in case someone didn't want their residence "pin pointed" for home security reasons.

(I've always felt that we all are at a bit of risk, when we sign up for certain gatherings and "advertise" on this site that we will be in attendance. Fortunately, and hopefully not wrongly we attract the types of viewers that are more trustworthy than some of the individuals that we may come in contact with on the streets in our daily lives).

Dave, I share your concern. But I use my real name, and it is in the phone book. The thief has probably has a better chance of finding a "mark" through the newspaper delivary or postal office than picking on C Brats. Plus the criminal still has to get by my various security devices, plus know if a friend or relitative is staying in our home.

I had even more concern when I was a party in an administrative law suit against a paper mill which was operating in voilation of its permit, and the law required that any of my correspondance be published on the government web sites--this would advertise my absence in a far more public forum. For that reason I withdrew from the action (but contributed to other parties).

I have had some of the same thoughts. I do have some great neighbors and their friends Mr Smith and Mr Wesson and they are pretty good about watching the area.

Saw a black striped, 22 cruiser headed east on 101 just out of Sequim yesterday. No Name that I could see.

Saw a gray high-top CD22 being towed by a red Chevy SUV at the stop light in downtown North Bend, WA, yesterday - honked and gave the driver the big "thumbs up." No name on the boat that I could see...
