C Dory out of Business

I went by the factory today and found it closed, the boat dealer across the street said that the company went BK three months ago and that there is no intention to continue to produce the c dory of sell parts. Does any one else have information on this

There have been reports on this forum by some of the C-Brats who have visited the factory in the past three months, talking about particular boats in production.

I don't remember a boat dealer across the street from the factory. Something fishy here! There was the Arima factory next door to the old factory in Kent.

There was indeed a Larson boat dealer right across the street from Triton. We are going up this weekend, will go over and see what I can find out.

Waypoint Boats is still advertising 2012 Seasports, built in the same plant. We had heard that Triton may have "made its last C-Dory" a couple of months ago, but I would be surprised to find the factory shuttered...anything is of course possible.

I had heard a couple of weeks ago from a dealer that sells another line that triton produced that they had closed again. I inquired about any boat show orders they had taken and from what I was made to understand they were working to fulfill those but kind of in limbo. Sounded like maybe a new owner/backer coming online.I did not probe the issue as it seemed like a sensitive subject. I did go onto the marine lenders services seattle site (they handle repos) and there are several sea sports on the site. They handled all of the inventory disposal on the last reorganization. Anyway a sad day if true. They know how to build several great lines of pilothouse boats and I hope continue to.

Which factory did you visit? The old Sea Sport facility, or the enwere Triton plant with the 16 C-Dory on teh roof of the building?

There has been word of some changes going on at the plant, but last I heard it was still open and building boats. Not a lot of boats, as the economy is still slow.

Slow down everybody. Triton Marine is NOT out of business, we are doing just fine. I just completed a 25' Tomcat for Mobile East Marine, and have currently on the floor (2) 22' Cruisers and a 16' Cruiser. Please feel free to call me or stop by and visit me at anytime.

Sincerely,

Scott Boysen

Good timing, Scott! What took you so long?

Thank you for chiming in here Scott. I was starting to mist up here. Man, I love these Boats and I would be really sad if they wasn't going to be made anymore. I hope everyone has a great evening.

"Slow down everybody," Scott said. Wait a minute. This is about one person, Westar, making an unsubstantiated comment. Let’s hear from him now.
