Good evening to all. Yes, it the RF 246 Rosborough Custom Wheelhouse as mentioned and remembered is my new boat. Sorry about the delay in this post, but have traveled a bit over 2300 hundred miles in the last 3 days...and bed is quickly behind gettting out of the truck.
I think the RF246 Custom Wheelhouse will be a great traveling boat due to having an 8'x9' cockpit, about 4.5' covrered with hardtop, and the rest covered with canvas which can be removed or rolled up for fishing or direct sun if wanted. Basically, from when I have traveled, watched folks travel, and participated in gatherings around our Nation, we use the helm seat and other interior seating ....to travel...just like driving a car. Then.. we take it out to the cockpit for rafting up, tieing up at the docks, and socializing and/or gazing at the stars moons, watching the sun rises and sets...and having fun with others. As an individual, I like the "option" of using a more "flexible" section of the boat... the larger cockpit, to use as needed for that moment. ... and not being limited due to a large percentage of the TOTAL square footage of MY boat, being dedicated to a table/dinette and/or head/shower set up. I can eat/shower/lounge about in my cockpit. It will be heated and cooled...as is the main "cabin"/helm/driving area...with of course the forward V-berth. Just how I like using my boat. Rosborough does make a sedan/cruiser version which like the C-Dory 22 Angler/Cruiser..... the Crusier is prefered by the greatest majority of the folks buying boats, and the custom wheelhouse/angler version being purchased by folks like myself, who want the option of the larger work/sleep/social area aft. Some like having a larger percentage of the boat given up to have a table inside... some love having the phone booth head/shower .... That is what makes so many boats a true need. We all want what we want for our own uses.
Yes, I still own my C-Dory 18 Angler....as I have also owned 2 other C-Dory boats....but...that is not what makes me...or any other individual a member of the C-Brats. We just joined the site....and many who are current members, never have owned a C-Dory...and some of them may never. They are all just as welcome on "our" C-Brat site. This site is not owned or sponsored by any factory and/or dealership. Owning a C-Dory is not what is needed to belong....we just have to be nice. Now, some get much more twisted about any talk of any boat other than a C-Dory...and that is their issue, not mine. Without my C-Dory ownership of current and past, to include all my C-Brat friends who also have or do own C-Dory boats... we sure would have missed out on meeting some great folks and great times on the waters and hotels and docks if we were restricted to only C-Dory boats. In fact, one of our largest event of the past several years....no one has their boat. It is at a hotel that is a cross country trip for many of us. It is the people, not the boats ..
Yes, I will have a second "helm section" on the roof. The Rosborough roof is built to a heavier standard/thickness than our C-Dory boats and will allow me to have a twin seat on top, with a set of ZF Mathers electronic remotes to manage the throttles and forward/reverse actions. I will steer using the wireless Simrade remote for the Simrade auto pilot system.
Thanks for yall's interest and response... I gotta get some sleep...tired from the road...and Thursday is a very big day for me in Oak Harbor WA.
