Browns Point Suzuki is gone

I have ordered from them in the past. They had a very well stocked operation. I was looking
for some things for my 140 Suzuki last week and went to the site and saw that message.
Very sad indeed.

Yep, I usually order a few years worth of stuff in advance for my 115 as my boat is in Canada and I bring the parts and the oils up with me. Hopefully they will find another location to function out of and they had flood insurance. They had an engine shop also. It's a mess all along the coast where they were located, and I not sure what is going to happen around that whole area.

Damn, with my 115's on Captain's Cat and 150's on Thataway, they'd answer the phone "Hi Charlie".. Obviously they had Caller ID. Great service, nice folks quick shipment and good prices Hope they find a way back. They've got a FB page but I haven't "liked" it yet. I will though.

Sorry to hear about that! The devastation from hurricanes has to be experienced to fully understand. All gone there. We understand that all too well! Loss of a great business, and I suspect what insurance they had will not cover the loss.

Marc knows it could happent to us Florida guys too. But they made a real early and sucessful entry into ;
A. Suzuki [it was a new product when they took it on]
B. Online parts selling with lots of parts in stock and good knowledge
C. having a very usable website with microfische and PDFs of the motors.
They did a great job and we hate to see anybody lose their business .

Good points, Marc. I'm not surprised you feel that way, because it seems to me that people/businesses who are doing a good job, rarely worry (in the "oh no, competition" sense) about other people or businesses doing a good job. More likely, they respect them, and often have a cordial relationship (trading parts, sending more-local-to-them customers their way, etc.).

There always seems to be plenty of room for "good guys" in business :thup

I wasn't familiar with Brown's (have never had a Suzuki), but they sure sounded like good folks. I hope they are able to make the best of this in whatever way suits them.

Funny thing I saw several weeks ago that the web site was up and they had a new location. I drove down yesterday to check out the location and see the new place. The location is on the main street in Keyport, not real close to any water (1 mile) so I don’t think here will be an issue, and if there is it will have to be a few times worse than Sandy. As far as the new location, there is not any signage and it did not look like the location was occupied yet. I’m going to give them a call today, and see what the story is, as I usually go down to the store and pick but stuff up.

I’ll post something when I find out.

Jim

I just spoke to them. They opened the new store on Friday, but have not moved all the stock out front, so that is why it did not look open.

Seems like all is well.
