A sign of the economy...

I'd buy it but they don't make fishing nets with long enough handles to net a fish from the deck. I think it would be a better boat for Dusty. He's got experience with those things.

Big boats yes, Mike, but not C-Dorys, even here in San Diego and despite the factory fiascos of the last three years. The C-Dory has a cult following just like the Bertram 25/26 do. You'll drop over $20k or way more for a 1966 through 1980 Bertram under 26 ft. IF you can find one, while NADA will insist they are worth less than 5 grand.

Very few C-Dory owners sell their boats because of financial issues. Age, health, inability to single hand it, moving up or downsize, and any number of other valid reasons, but certainly not because of the economy.

I wish you luck in your latest search. I only know of about 7 C-Dorys in San Diego County and none are for sale. You might find one up in LA or Ventura County though.

In Florida (Al/MS) there were some really great buys in boats a bit over a year ago. Now, not so many. We spent several weeks looking at larger trawlers all over the Gulf Coast and Florida--and could not find anything decent at the price we were willing to pay (which was pretty much par with NADA or slightly above). The same is true for RV/s. We ended up buying a newer, larger RV, a good buy, but not a steal. We have a friend who bought one last year at that 1/3#....

As for the Carrier--that has to be a spoof...
