Skarne Marine has a different layout in their new 25' with the Galley up forward under the dash and no aft door. On either side of the helm are two sliding doors with an aft U-shaped seating area. It weighs an few tons, but they claim exceptionally high mpg and high speed.

Take a look at http://skarnemarine.com/ Go to boats to offshore series to minor 25 new.

Interesting premise and nice looking interior. I have to think that cabin is going to feel pretty narrow with walk around decks on both sides. If you were to do a camperback enclosure, it would have to have openings to allow entry from the side walkways. They mention "patrol" boat on their site, and it seems better suited to that than extended cruising. You guys who fish your boats may have a different opinion, but while it looks like a well-made boat, I think we have more livability in our CD-25.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Those boats are also a couple of times the price of our C-Dory's.

Not surprising! The Scandinavian countries have very high standards and cost factors.

Another high quality boat from Finland: Nautor Swan sailboats!

The Swan65 motorsailer was the talk of the U.S. Sailboat Show back in '75 when I worked for the show. I enjoyed it so much I toured it three times. Definitely a well put together boat.

Personally I don't see the practicality of the side doors--tendancy to leak when having beam seas in heavy weather, exposed to weather deck if you have to go outside, and narrow cabin.

Swan 65 motorsailor? Never seen one, although I have been aboard a number of the S & S Swan 65's. The more common motor sailors from Scandanavia were the Nauticats--S & S did design several of these.
