Greetings all,

We recieved a hot-off-the-press CD22 Cruiser from the factory today with the new interior. I thought I'd share some photos with you.

This is an overhead shot of the new molded cockpit liner that started a few months ago.

Next up are a couple of photos looking into the back of the cabin just for perspective and an overall sense of what the new interior looks like when boarding. (It's very sunny at the moment (the photos were just taken) so I'm sorry for the high contrast.)

Here are a couple of inside photos of the interior.

This is a shot of the dinette seat facing foward; it came out much darker than I expected but hopefully you can see how it all works out.

Larger photos are available in the C-Salt Album.

There may be a few small tweaks left yet but overall the new interior has a very nice look and is quite functional. With the change to the dinette seat arrangement (as compared to the first molded unit) it's pretty much as it's always been since the Forward Facing Seat came to be.

I'm looking forward to our new boats rolling in here as we've got several scheduled for rigging and delivery.

Take care...

Well that is a improvement over what I saw in the other boat. I can see that the table is bigger and attached to the wall again. the sliding seat is wider and now not only sides, which will give more leg room, but must be seperate from the storage area below it. That was a major concern of mine. the table is still on a pedistal. It seems that it does not need to be taken down in order to slide the seat back. I cant tell if the table is one or two pieces form the dark photo, Which is it?

I still dont like the table leg. if c-dory is going to adopt many of the same features as the cape cruiser why not the great table set up the cape cruiser had. I will be turning my table into a cross breed of the two.

My $.02 -

The full glass door makes the interior brighter and seem bigger - but -
I like the recent "screen door" mod some of us added giving us a bit more
ventilation flexibility,

BTW: what are the rail's on the roof - can't figure them out from the photo.

Looked at it closely at EQ - nice. I like it - a few things I would probably change, but that's the way with any boat. She'll sell! If we all liked the same toys this would be a very dull site!!

Les-

Thanks for the photos!

Looks like they've corrected the primnary objections, design wise.

Some of us will always favor the features of our older boats with which we are more familiar.

Looks like a very salable product!

See you in Seattle! Joe.

This has generated a LOT of discussion in only 5 days (since Tom's first post). Obviously, the factory realized early on that changes were necessary... can't imagine they could have come up with the new improved dinette in 5 days, ready for delivery. Still, pretty responsive, huh?

I understand that, unlike car model years, most boats are a work in process, and updates and improvements are made as necessary, not held until the next model year. A question for you, Les, that went unanswered on the other thread on this: what happens to the "interim" boats, the ones that were early in the development of a major change like this?

Thanks for the pics. After reading some of the posts i was afraid that C-Dorys had went to hell in a hand basket. It is just different and the new owners will have to devise ways to set them up and add things a little differently than we did.

Thank you for the pictures. From the first comments, I, like the good looking Fred and other people, thought that the factory had gone nuts. It looks good.

I hope they have one at the Providence Show tomorrow for me to see. I will then report back to you. It does not mean I am going to give up my classic, but InnLady might force me to, if it could get her aboard.

Thanks for the photos, Les. It does not look bad, and I did not expect it to. I am still...oh well...I'll shut up until I see it and then keep my yap shut unless it has something positive to say.

Looks pretty sweet to me. I would love that interior. Nice job Cdory :thup !! I can't wait to see them in person at the SBS. Thanks for the photo's.

Thanks for posting Les , I go the pictures this A.M. I knew it would not be a world changing event . I hope this calms the storm .I understand there will be a retro kit for the few boats shipped with the interim interior .

Wow... Les.... I take it you moved the shop.... There is sunshine :hot :hot in them pics....

Now, those of you who know me, realize ....that no way have I had time to read each comment between page 5....and what ever page the original thread of the good, bad, ugly...or what ever...when this started a bit ago...

So again... forgive me if I miss something, offend anyone, or simply do not have the same opinion as you do on some of this.

I still stand, 100% behind my brother Tom... Simper Fi!!
But, what we are seeing from LES ...TODAY... is apples and oranges.

I think what stirs most of us....TRADITIONAL real C-Dory owerns.... is that we have owned Bayliners, Sea Rays, ...and other blow and go boats....that simply are set up to sell on the impulse boat show buyers. I think, as a total group, there are some of us, who did buy their 1st boat at a boat show...and by the Grace of God, IT WAS A C-Dory. Now, having said that, I hope this continues, with the improvements in quality control,
and the forever; (even if at some times if not welcomed ....or ....agreed upon by THE INDUSTRY....) input of those of use who have laid down our DOLLARS for these hulls.

My thoughts are.... wow... would it have been so difficult to even launch a thread/an opinion pole on OUR OWNERS SITE..... as to say.... Hey...we are going to try something....we aint finsished....but.... what ya think about this.... good/bad??? what should we do differant.
Now, we can't fit/fix every desire out there...as no one but a total custom shop can...but.... we know there is some flexibilty....in that what is here picutured today, simply is not what was seen at the other ...1st boat show.

Just think... we would not have all thought./said/posted.... what have they done to OUR boats... and it could have been more like our CR25 "progression".... in that ....yes ...tell us what you think...

For now, I'm tired of talking C-Dory today....and I must say, it was great to again today see the eyes light up when they saw OUR boats....and said.... WOW...this is differant, cool....and I can do this...or I can do that...

Good Day...

Time for a big ol C-Dory hug....

BYRDMAN...
