OK, Here's the detail on the FH gathering: We have 45 slips reserved. We have all of "H" Dock and at least half of "G" dock. To get to those docks approach the marina, find the customs station about dead ahead and then look to the right, you will see a small kiosk on the end of a breakwater with a sign giving 66 as their operating VHF frequency. Enter the protected area there leaving the kiosk to your starboard and look to the right. You will see "H" dock. The kiosk is on breakwater "A". As you approach please contact the harbormaster's office on VHF 66, just tell them you are with the C-Dory group. They will not assign a specific slip. Take any open slip on "H" dock. After "H" is full new arrivals head in the same direction but pick a close in slip on the right side of "G" dock as you are heading in. There will be other Brats there to help you. As usual the Port of Friday harbor is very glad to have us there; normal moorage is 95 cents per foot, they charge us only 70 cents per foot. Once you are moored please walk up to the Harbormaster's office to register and pay for moorage, other brats will give you directions. Each slip has 30A power and potable water. There is an extra cost for shore power. C-Cakes will be moored somewhere near the middle of "H" dock. We have a dinner planned for Friday evening at "Downriggers" a nice restaurant within easy walking distance of the marina. It is up to you whether you join us for dinner. There are several nice restaurants within walking distance, Downriggers is the only one able to handle a group our size. No one will fault you if you choose another option.
There are several good breakfast options, all within walking distance, folks just decide what they want to do, there is no organized breakfast or lunch on Saturday. The Friday Harbor West Marine store hosts us for coffee and donuts at about 10:00 and they give brats 10% off most stuff. Some people head out to fish, others cruise the general area, others walk around Friday Harbor, there is a farmer's market, an interesting Whale Museum, and a very nice local bookstore. You can also rent a car, scooter or two person scooter to tour San Juan Island. English and American Camps are worth a visit. You can also get to Roche harbor by auto/scooter. Many of us just hang around and gossip. David McKibben on Anna Leigh and I will be doing Coast Guard vessel safety checks throughout the weekend, just find us if you want a VSC. Saturday is a good day to look over everybody's boat and to steal their good modification ideas. The potluck will begin about 5:30ish on Saturday and will be on breakwater "A" at the end of "H" dock. There is no power on the breakwater but food is usually devoured before it has a chance to get cold. It is a true potluck, no assigned dishes, after the potluck we usually have boat christenings courtesy of rev Jim or Asst Rev. Dave. If you would like your boat christened, (A good idea, Neptune gets picky), bring some greenery from your home area and libation of your choice then watch while your friends pour all kinds of stuff over the bow of your baby  Most people plan to arrive noonish on Friday and depart by noonish on Sunday. There are always impromptu flotillas heading out to any of several great cruising areas, just ask around and don't be shy
