05/16 - 05/18 - Friday Harbor 2014

Two Lucky Fish +1 is here. I'm exhausted. Hey, I notice there is a Wi-Fi network here called C-Dory; who is that? Is it for the group? If so, what's the password? :-)

Hey Harvey, if you're crossing the Strait tomorrow about dinner time and you see the Norwegian Pearl, that will be me waving to you. We will be on our way to Juneau and Glacier Bay with 2500 of our fellow septuagenarians (and their parents). Hope everyone is having a good time in FH.

Thank you Patti and Barry!!! What a fabulous gathering. Great weather, people food and fun. We are staying a couple extra days in FH as it is a wonderful spot. Safe travels home to everyone. See you down the road. Carolyn and George

It was great seeing many of you Saturday afternoon while there with the Anacortes Coast Guard Auxiliary. I was delighted to finally meet Jay and Jolee, who have shared so many adventures and inspired us.

In 2008 the 3rd weekend in May became "Friday Harbor with friends." Thanks to all who helped my transition from kayaking to the ongoing journey of learning about power boating and wonderful places to visit.

Always a C-Brat...

Barry & Patti:

Thanks so much for making this such a fun weekend. It was great to catch up with old friends and make new ones. With Canada and so many states represented, it's no wonder this is the largest C-brats gathering.

Hoping to join everyone in Victoria...Thanks, Susan and Tom for organizing!

Andrea: we'll be in touch when we cross the border this summer, would be great if our paths were to cross.

Dan & Tanya: we missed you! Hope to catch up sometime soon.

Hi Marty, Have a great trip. I left FH this morning at 0600 and had a very pleasant crossing, wind at 5 or less, and wave about 1ft for the first quarter of the way, then near flat. It's pretty rare that I would try a crossing much later. You, on the other hand, will not have to worry about "small craft " warnings for a while.

Friday Harbor was really great. Super weather, great food, really good time with really nice people, and best of all, all of the boats are floating, still.

Pat and Patty, Salty, and Tim, glad you all suck it out and came even if it was a bit delayed.

Dan and Tanya, sure missed you two.

Nope all have a safe trip to where ever from there. Some are not going home, so wherever, be safe. Great to get to catch up.

Patti and Barry

Well done, food was great and the company was great too. Had a great time. It was nice to meet new people and renew old friendships.

Barry & Patti,

Well done. We had a wonderful time & extra thanks to you for the book & all the information about places ect north of here.

We'er still here at Friday Harbor with the few others that are staying an extra night or two. After you left I went over to Jones Island & back on the Mokai where there's another mini gathering tonight with maybe 6 C- Dorys & Sam & his Nordic Tug, continuing the great time had by all here.

Jay

We had a great time with many folks and still have more to meet. What a large group! The new boat with an actual cabin this time was a treat and worked great there and back again. We really need to extend the trip next time and stay a few extra nights....

Greg and the Ari crew

Thanks to Barry and Patti for another great gathering. The Natural C-lection Jacksons made it home safely after a nice visit to Jones and Stuart Islands.

Barry, I think you have that weather dance down :). Thanks to you and Patti for another great gathering. Great to see everyone and looking forward to next year.

Looks like I beat Harvey out this morning by 20 mins and had a great smooth crossing and was back in Shilshole by 9:10am. The Strait was smooth as was Admiralty Inlet. I don't think I could have towed the boat home any faster :)

I did notice an empty slot on my way out. Glad you had as nice a ride as I did. The early morning runs are where it's at, if you want a no wind ride, huh? Did you go out Cattle Pass too? I was thinking I would be the only one doing that today.

Barry, the weather dance worked, so I hope you have it down for next year too, cause I'm taking some extra time then. You and Patti get High fives for doing a really great job on putting this one together. Thank you so much.

Thank you Barry and Patti,
Cathy and I had a great time and a smooth trip home. We had the boat washed and put away by 3pm leaving plenty of time to unwind and catch a nap.
Thanks to all for a great weekend.

41 boats, 3 brat families came boatless, good weather, good dinner Friday, terrific potluck food and fun, the factory says they are building so many boats they are planning to move to a larger facility and will get involved in Bellingham gatherings, 4 Christenings, Coast Guard vessel safety checks, West marine gave coffee, donuts and discounts, Jody's great helicopter drone photos, and...good news, several brats stepped forward to host more gatherings up here in the PNW look for information later this year and next. There was a mini-gathering at Jones Sunday evening. On to Pender Harbour! Patti and I had great fun helping you guys have fun!
