Do the Hawthorn Suites have an Airport pick-up Van? We are trying to figure out if we need to rent a car or not...We plan on getting in Thursday night and leaving Sunday night.

Joel, I don't think Hawthorne has a shuttle service. Once you get there I don't think you will need a car, unless there are some places you want to go in particular. There are many cars with lots of room to get to the SBS, the C-Dory Factory and brewery (if your interested). There is a shuttle from the SBS to the Boats a Float and back which is included in the admission price.

Patti and I are staying at the Hawthorne and will have room for three in our car where ever we are going. I'm sure there will be many others with cars.

Joel, I was told there was a Hawthorn airport shuttle and to call on arrival. If USAirways is on time I'll be there at 1:34pm on Thursday. I will need a car at least one day for a quick Mukilteo run but since Enterprise delivers and their rates are usually much lower at sites away from the airport I'll wait and see what the hotel can scare up.

CYA there!

I just called Hawthorne Suites and they DO have a shuttle service. Upon arrival you go to the transportation floor of the parking garage where the phones are for transportation. They will deliver you to the hotel or within a 5 mile radius of it.

Enterprise has a 1/2 off deal for weekends....but not if you pick up the car at the airport...and it expires at the end of the year...possibly they will have another deal for next year... Avis has good rates if you use your AARP card...(I am sure there are other discounts available) so rental vehicles seem to be running $85 to $110 for the three days...cheep enough, but I just hate to drive and have all the hassle of parking at the show.

Part of the addmission ticket is free parking at the parking garage t the south about 6 blocks with a free shuttle to the show.

Don't remember reeading anywhere above about admission ticket prices, etc.

In the past several things happened:

You got the parking included as above if you bought tickets in advance, and also recieved "Sea" magazine (I think that's it) for free for the next year, or

If you called the factory number that was provided, the factory would leave complimentary tickets for your party at the Will Call.

Either way, the ticket also included the boat show in the water on Lake Union.

Are these arrangements still in effect?

PJ and I will be there this year. Last time (2 years ago) Joel and I came up from SoCal alone. This year we will be bringing the Admirals with us.

Hey all
I will be home from Tennesee on the 2nd Dec. I will get together with Jeff at the factory and will post all info after that.

Had a great visit from Beth and Linda, followed shortly there after by Roger's visit....and fun on some of our local waters and home. Now...gazing out to the north west and about 6 weeks out.... and plotting and planing again.

This year, myself, my friend Jeff, his friend Bob, my brother Mike and his wife Brenda will also be joined by my Mother, Mamma Byrd... Mom has been generous in the Cumberland River Gatherings to open her home for some great breakfast, free dockage, washers and dryers, a few beds, many showers (thanks!!) and this year....Thanksgiving dinner for 4 boats & crews gathered joining parts of my family. A true great day that was. This C-Dory thing is getting to be a real family gig. :hug :female :female :dog :cat :hug2

Each year I have enjoyed the locks and dam tour while in Seattle. 2 1/2 hours of fun, nice bar, and we do not have to load/unload/launch and/or recover the boats!! This is great for us Non-Locals.

Anyone else feel like joining some of us for the 1pm Friday, 26Jan cruise?? I am not sure, but I bet we could get some type of group rate due to it being a normal scheduled time, and, this would give us time to get back to the hotel in time to clean up a bit prior to the Friday night pot-luck.

Thoughts???

I think there are now around 30ish rooms reserved.
