Dan,

I'd be happy to take you out fishing if you come down for the boat show. There's not much biting at that time. Also, given that you've gone green on us now, how fast can you paddle a 22'? We need to troll at about 2.5kts for blackmouth.

Funny, I was there last year and don't remember any of that. I was lucky to find the motel in the rain after my flight! Maybe I just stayed at the brewery? :shock:

count us in roger. We had a great time last year and cant wait to go back. the Hawthorne was a wanderful hotel and we may take the time off to stay three days. I will also see about mooring the Susan E in elliott bay so I can take people fishing if the weather permits.

In ALL seriousness though Dan, I really would be happy to take you out fishing if you make it to Seattle. The only thing that's open in the salt then is winter blackmouth (resident chinook) and a good day one might scatch out a fish or two. Cutt throat or rainbow trout on Lake washington would also be a possibility with it being likely that only a few fish at best would be caught. I suppose I could be a better salesman for our fabulous Seattle winter fishery - but I don't charge a guide fee so I'll have to tell the truth. We'll tow the boat with my gas guzzling 1984 F-250 pickup, but if you want, I can provide a sheet for you to hide under on the way to the launch or my wife can drive you in her fuel efficient, Jetta TDI.

Dan - a boatride it is. We could hit Lake Washington for some brief fishing for Cutts and then run over to Kirkland for lunch and/or drinks. Lots of good restaurants and sometimes I catch fish. Weather in the lake is usually OK and I can launch about 3 miles from my house. The launch is usually empty in winter.
 
Those of you who went to the brewery to see the Taproom under construction last January will be amazed if you come back out, we opened in April and it has been great!

Joe - I agree with you. I am a beer drinker but nobodys beer is good enough to be worth $10 an oz.
 
After much deep thought and consideration about our need to discuss fully some of the deeper and more difficult topics of boat ownership and maintainence, I'm thinking it would be nice to have a week-long symposium with each day dedicated to one of those unending topics that just never seem to reach resolution. How about this:

Monday: "Zen, Fluid Dynamics, and Everything Else You Don't Really Want to Know About Propeller Selection ad naseum" -Caution: requires lab sessions underwater in the pool, and concludes with Snoqulimie Falls Brewery visit.

Tuesday: The Black Art of Batteries and the InnerSpace Within the Universe Within" -- complete with graphs of blank data on black graph paper to prove the point.

Wednesday: "Single or Twins? -Modern Utilization of a Divining Rod to Discover Your Psyche's Motor Choice Set"- Personalized monographed rods for sale following session (with your choice of motor brand logo).

Thursday: "Understanding Modern Electronic Marine Navigational Systems"
This is a lab practicum: you will be set free at night in the Straights of Juan de Fuca in a 6 ft inflatable with a handheld GPS and a 4 1/2' paddle. 1st one back to the Boat Show wins!

Friday: Friday has been set aside as a good day to drink and go to the Boat Show Early-and did we mention drink?

I and Linda finaly were able to work things with the Hawthorn Suites. their first price was unacceptable so I had Linda work on them some and she did well, IMHO

here is the Email Linda sent me this morning and so the rates are set and all we need to do is to start booking with Linda at Travel Desk. her contact info is at the end of the message
Hi Roger-how's it going?
I finally heard from the Hawthorn regarding next year's rates. I was able to get the following prices for your group next year (better than it was!)

Studio suite (sleeps 4) $75.00 + tax per night
Townhouse suite (sleeps 6) $85.00+ tax per night

Free meeting room (all 3 spaces) Friday for 50 rooms reserved
Free meeting room (2 spaces like last year) for 30 rooms reserved.

They're only increasing the rooms $6.00 per night for next year--a much better price than anyone else booking by themselves. I think it's fair. I hope the group does too. They DO value and appreciate the C-Dory group--they said it's always a pleasure to have them at their hotel.

Have the group start calling me or e-mailing me with credit cards asap.

I would like a check for $10.00 per booking sent directly to my agency (to eliminate the confusion of running around collecting money at the function).
