    60hp on a 19 Angler?

I've got Yamaha's 75 on my 19 and it would top out about 27mph when it was lighter. Now loaded to the nuts , two up, coolers, extra fuel cans, traps, rope & floats etc. it tops out at about 21 knots WOT. The fuel economy is still good but I think I should have gone with the 90hp. Glen

    "Borrowed" Ideas From Fellow Brats

John, I built my own swim grid hand rail for about $30. Take a look at 'Lucky 7's' album. There are alot of great ideas on this site. Glen

    Large screen GPS /Chartplotter

Bill, Thanks for the heads up on the 955c. I had just been out to Kitamat with my x-deck hand now "Captain" and was checking out the 917xs he just bought. Nice unit. So I picked up the 955c for 'Lucky 7's'. Looks like it will work well using my 178c for backup and sounder. Once again thanks, Glen

    Baystar steering frozen.

Hi Nick, The pump resevoir in my 06 19' started leaking 1st trip out the 2nd year I had it. The resevoir was just plastic. The manufacturer replaced it with no hassle. It seems this model wasn't very reliable. The replacement is all aluminium. I don't know if this helps but you may have the...

    Looking for advice/suggestions

Hi Castaway, I've got the 19 and have been using her out of Kitamat for the last 3 seasons. It's a good choice for my use. The 22 would be a better choice for your situation. The 'Port Boathouse' in Port Alberni has a new 22' Cruiser in stock. Good luck in your search. Glen

    boarding ladder saved a life

When I bought my 19 it came with the swim grid and a two step Garrlick ladder. So while at Quesnel Lake last year I decided to take a morning swim (bath) and try it out. I'm glad I was tied to the float and not in the middle of the lake. It seems that age and a few extra pounds have impared my...

    C-Dory Sightings

I met Jeff this morning here in Quesnel, BC heading north to Alaska with his new boat. She is a real sweetheart. Wished him a safe trip. He still has a long way to go and the weather is poor.

    Kicker Brackets

Hey even the ones reccommended for four stroke don't reccommend that you travel with the motor on. Don't they know these things are heavy. I ended up frabricating my own. I started with plans found on site , then revised it to suit my 19' angler. If it falls off I can only blame myself. There...

Its spring!! no its april 1st and snow

Looks like winter just doesn't want to go. We measured the ice in Dragon Lake here in Quesnel (BC) a few days ago and there was 36" on the lake. It is usually gone by the second week of April. It's been a long winter with March temps adout 3 degrees C lower than normal. So much for global warming.

Smallest but most effective tow vehicle

I'm towing my 19 with an 03 V6 4Runner. It works quite well though the mileage drops from 27/28mpg to about 15/16mpg. Whoops that's 'Imperial' gallons. The V8 version has a higher towing capacity but poorer fuel economy.

    The News from Here

Good morning and a Merry Christmas to all. It's a balmy -23F here in Quesnel,BC this morning . Like a lot of you we have been watching the news from Vancouver and Victoria with much amusement. It's amazing what a little snow and cold can do when you're not equiped or prepared for it. All the...

    19' c-dory

tsargent Yeah the seats still swivel but only 90 degrees. I used the original hardware for the seats. They can still be moved forward and back. The two small drawers are handy for small loose objects, pencils ,dividers, silverware etc. and all the cooking utensils go behind one seat with the...

tsargent I too found the seats too low so I built a pair of cabinets that raise my seats about 4" and give me a little extra storage. There are pics in my album.

    Help Fluid Marine?

The first C-dory I saw was in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Prince Rupert BC . She was a Minnesota or Wisconsin boat headed to Alaska. Her owner took the time to show her to me. There are now two in Quesnel BC , 10 hrs from the salt, 'Reel Knotty' and Lucky 7's. The C-Brat site had a lot to do...

    Followup to Hydraulic steering leak

I too went through the leaky steering pump this summer. I changed mine out under warranty and did the install myself. It was time consuming but when I compared the two pumps I was glad I did. The original pump was of two piece construction with an injection moulded plastic body whereas the...

    19' c-dory

If you add the Stingray 111 check your prop clearance on your anode before you fire it up. Mine just hit the anode (lucky I noticed it before I ran it) and I had to take a little off the anode. I put 132 hrs on the boat since installing it and it's still tight. Thanks Robbi, I tried out your...
