Water leak in hull- forces winter projects: advice needed

When I ordered our 22', I requested that the brass stem guard not be installed. Les at EQ Marine then installed the Keelguard. There has been no problem with the Keelguard and our roller trailer.

    cd-16's all the time

I've told this story in the past....in 2000 while enroute to the C-Dory gathering in Langley, We encountered heavy seas between Everett and Hat Island (aka Gedney Island). Our daughter (who was 10 yrs. old at the time) was with me in our 16' Cruiser. The seas built up to the point that we took...

    cd-16's all the time

Stan, Rarely did/do I ever run at WOT with the 16' or the 22' because the water has to be flat and even then boh vessels would seem squirrelly. Plus I'm not a "go fast" guy...more "slow and sure". On several occasions both vessels have been used on a lake for inner tubing our daughter and her...

Have you had your Flu shot?

Like Meredith, with my former occupation, it was a requirement. Since I retired, I've continued the tradition and am still alive. It seems that every year I still suffer through at least one horrendous bout of flu (?) and I always say, "I'm certainly glad I received the flu vaccine, because...

    cd-16's all the time

When we had our '99 16 footer, we had a 50 HP Honda with an 8 HP Honda kicker. We routinely had three of us on board...at the time we owned the 16 our daughter was 10 years old through age 15. We cruised extensively South, Central and North Puget Sound, The San Juan Islands, several local...

    cd-16's all the time

Just a footnote of history.....in the year 2000, Brock (Brock of 16' Bambina) and I (at the time with a 16' Cruiser) were discussing having a 16' Gathering at Langley (Washington) on the old C-Dog site. As we discussed the possible gathering on the site, one of the 22' owners said, "is it ok...

    Transom drain plug

This is the normal configuration. From the sounds of your post, I'm figuring that after you remove the remaining water with a sponge, syringe, turkey baster or whatever you use that more water is coming into the cockpit from rain. The solution for that is to cover the cockpit or if the boat is...

    Bilge pump issue

Scott...just a reminder ...you won't get any "action" from the aft "float" bilge pump unless there is water in that area that causes the float to rise up and turn the pump on. (Unless you manually lift the float). (Just a thought in case you are expecting the bilge to come on when there is not...

    forward facing dinette seat mod

No problem with ours....In fact now that you mention it, I don't ever remember thinking about the fact that it is split when it is in the dinette position. We keep a thin non slip pad on the table which makes the split invisible. (We don't keep the pad there to hide it, but to keep items...

Flood / Docking Lights Mounted on Radar Arch

The first time I used a Go Light was when we had our 16' C-Dory Cruiser. We had established a campsite on Clark Island (in the San Juan Islands) and were awaiting the arrival of friends that were towing a Jon boat with all of their camping gear in waterproof bags on it. As darkness approached...
