    Thieves in the early A.M.

I've been pretty lucky with using a storage cover and a lot of tight tie downs at hotels. While it would be pretty easy to get in if one wanted, I think that it at least takes away the ease of scoping out what's in there worth stealing. As well, it might make it more uncomfortable for a thief...

08/09 Suzuki 9.9 4 stroke long term reviews?

Woops, I guess my Johnson is an 07 I added new in 08. I have heard of some having sticking in the carb floats if sitting with ethanol blend in the bowls, but i haven't experienced this first hand yet.

08/09 Suzuki 9.9 4 stroke long term reviews?

I have an 08 Johnson 4 stroke 9.9 that I am told is a rebadged Suzuki. It has electric start and has been a great kicker/troller. Not a problem in 3 years just replacing the lubricants. (around 300 hrs).

    need fish finder advice.

I've done a lot of fishing on a lot of boats and I don't think anything compares with FURUNO FF equipment nor the company that supports it. When my Raymarine goes out, thats where I'll concentrate my search.

    Why twins?

Kenny, I see you are new here. Searching in the c-brats.com domain using Google search (advanced search feature) should yield more focused results.

retrieve without getting in the water?

Even the cheap $2-3 (on sale) picker-upper similar to this grabber from Harbor Freight will give you another couple feet of arm extension from either the trailer or dock to hook up a bow eye hook. Suspect that a lot of boat hooks could reach even farther (maybe a little duct tape?)...

    File Under "Lessons Learned"

I have had pretty good luck with a Master Python cable lock. It's been on for 2.5 years in some salt but mostly fresh and is stored outside all year. Still seems to function fine though I spray the lock with wd whenever I think of it (which is not very often). I lock my kick with it to the SS...

short trips in the Sacramento Delta area

You did not mention Martinez Marina which is on the WC side and skips a $20 (That's right $20) toll for dual axle. Martinez is a nice safe place to leave a tow vehicle, Pittsburg and Antioch more iffy. Agreed, you could pssibly hit stiff west winds in the afternoons. Also available are Marinas...

    Capstan Deck Winch

Powerwinch makes a few too. http://www.powerwinch.com/powerwinch/co ... tion=about I use one to pull crab traps and its been a brute. I have a Lewmar windlass to pull the anchor, but I don't have to deal with your kind of tides and currents. I suspect the 1000 lb PW would be worth throwing...

    Bait Tank on 16 angler

Sorry, I don't know what a peristaltic pump is. But, most baitwell pumps I have seen contain a check valve that would not let the water siphon out whereas a bilge, when turned off or not under water, just becomes a hose and with a head of water above, if its not pumping its going to be...

    Bait Tank on 16 angler

That does not appear to be a bait pump but a bilge pump, I believe. Most bait pumps are mounted onboard and have suction that sucks water from a through-hull or scoop and have suction that a bilge pump does not. I would suspect that at speed you create a back suction that then creates a siphon...

    Spare Trailer Hub

The last picture in the Trailer Mods. sub album, has a listing of the stuff I carry in a trailer bag on longer trips. I actually carry 2 complete idler hubs now. They were fairly inexpensive. I have brakes on only 1 axle on the EZ-load
