    boat driving job.

Capt Matt is spot on! I taught at one of the schools in a former life -- much material to cover in a short period and the exams used to be very tough. Long hours, much sweat. Dusty Unlimited tonnage ocean master (ex)

I figured out my C-80 depth finder

The arch is caused by the relative movement between the target and the transducer. If you are going too slow (as in slow troll for trout) you will get a dot. When I'm trout fishing I rarely see an arch... salmon fishing, always!! Butof course YMMV. Dusty

    Ben Toland's Next Boat

David, Kind words and a gracious offer. I hate to be singled out because I'm just one of hundreds of thousands who did what they thought was right. So lucky, this old one, to be here among friends and enjoying each day. Dang it! Gotta go get the water boiling to cook some fresh crab. :smile...

    Ben Toland's Next Boat

Old Dusty loves his C-Dory and plans to use it for several more years. You two young fellers in your 70's gotta keep active! I'll admit that I don't boat as much as I used to, but I enjoy every hour I spend aboard. I'd sure like to be fishing up there with young David! That's fisherman's...

    Fifth Wheel Trailer Or ????

Oh my! Dusty's gold bars??? Bars I understand. Like Charlie (over on the hot side of the world) I can roll my eyes just sniffing a good single malt,, and usually can tell you the vintage and brand. On topic - very nice looking Lazy Daze in Fife, but 30' is much too big if you want to tow...

    Fifth Wheel Trailer Or ????

Don, Great lookiing rig and Lazy Days is considered one of the best in our RVing community experience. Bet that V-10 is welcome at gas stations!! At 11+ bucks a gal, which my Brit friend now pays, that rascal would spend very little time on the road with this old guy driving. Gotta...

    Fifth Wheel Trailer Or ????

Pat, Lots of time for decision making, eh? With our truck campers we always took the camper off the truck at our final destination, a ten-fifteen minute task, so we could run around in the truck. Most of our living -- entertaining, sundownering, BBQ, etc. (lots of etc) -- was done outside...

    Fifth Wheel Trailer Or ????

Pat, Yer old Duster bud has done this in spades. Years and years - from Newell class A on down to a tent camper. Money no object - Hank's Sea Skipper and Earth Roamer would be at the very top of my list. After that I'd probably recommend one of the expanding truck campers so you could tow the...

    Nikon D60 owners?

It is pretty good in the macro mode, but there is some barrel distortion at 18... I prefer my 17-35 2.8 or 14-24 2.8 when I'm required to be picky -- but the 18-200 VR is hard to beat as an all around "do everything" lens. And cheeep! (relatively) Dusty

    Nikon D60 owners?

Jeff - I agree. Unless you are doing professional architecture, the 18-200 VR is difficult to beat. I have a wide range of Nikon glass and most of it stays home... the 18-200 is my lens of choice. The D40 with 18-200 should be a very good rig. There are times I prefer the D300, but the older I...

    Nikon D60 owners?

I like Nikon. D300, D200 plus a shelf full of older Nikons. The 18-200VR is really worth the price. One lens and no switching problem. Of course Canon is certainly the equal of Nikon -- I've just been a loyal Nikon fan too long. Daughter is a pro photog.(www.sandybyers.com) and uses Canon...

    Byrdman Has A Small Stroke

Pat,Get your lazy butt out of bed and start doing push-ups, okay? Been following your condition closely via Les. Just do what the doc sez and get back on the boat. BTDT -- got my attention too. Come on out here, bud, and we'll get you well!! :thup :thup Duster
