    Tuna - Albacore

When you climb the back of a big swell going downhill pull back on the throttle just a little and let the swell roll under you a bit... pay attention to when your RPMs start to climb again and pull back even more... now watch your speed... you are going faster and using less fuel... this really...

    Halibut

Well done everyone. The flat fish have eluded me so far, but they won't for the entire season, I promise you  . Stevej, it was awsome to see you at the beach this last week. Now that you have gone to the dark side there is no return. You have partaken of the sacred flesh and heard the...

    Tuna - Albacore

My top speed varied but I was able to see just over 24 knots on the return trip. I averaged 12 to 18 knots heading up the hill to get to the Tuna grounds. I was out for just over 12 hours and only burned somewhere around 37 gallons of fuel. I love the Suzy 4 stroke 90 with the 20 pitch prop...

Trolling with a 90 horse Suzuki

My Suzy 90 trolls from .8 MPH to 36MPH with the 20 pitch prop... love it. No, I haven't caught anything "trolling" at 36 MPH but I sure enjoy being able to roll it on up there. I HAVE caught lots of Tuna from 6 to 9 MPH though .... ymmv...

    Furuno vs. Garmin...

I have had several GPS units. I love the Garmins. As far as my boat is concerned though... Furuno all the way... The service center is just across the bridge. My equipment works hard (when it gets to work) and Furuno has proven that they stand behind their products. I recently sent my dome in...

    need truck and camper advice

Tom, that truck is barely broken in. I would venture to say that with the air bags you won't have much of a problem unless you bring back #900 of Tuna on #500 ice like I do  . On a serious note you have very little to loose... give it a try. You can adjust the Tung weight by moving the...

    C Dory Movie

Such a treat.. I have seen pods of Dolphines as far as the eye can see in the early Spring. On my sons first Tuna trip we came into a pod of Spinners. they were jumping at least 20 feet into the air doing flips and spins, it was like a front row seat at Sea World. That is a great video and IO...

Fish Box Thoughts on my Tomcat

Another option for the trash can would be an engine flush bag. I have one of these and wish I had discovered them a long long time ago. I love it. In addition to using it to flush the engines or tune up the motors I have used mine as an improntu live bait tank and have considered using it for a...

Fish Box Thoughts on my Tomcat

Insulating the box is good but I think you may be able to curb the problem a bit by processing the Tuna and other fish the way we do. We immediately bleed out the Tuna when it first comes aboard... as soon as there is not a steady stream we will gut and gill the fish being careful to scrape both...

    Hot-rodding a C-Dory

Maybe I should race some of you for titles? I have had Sea Lion up to 36 MPH with the Suzy 90. Actually I better step off before a cat owner wants to call em out. Of course if I lost my boat i'd have to step up to a 255... well after I won the lottery... Of course if I win a couple of...
