We have a home on Rochester and a cottage on L. Ontario halfway to Buffalo. We regularly put into the Erie Canal at Lockport: there is an excellent launch, and parking area (both free) at Widewaters Marina.

Tuesday afternoon, in a NE wind, I put into L. Ontario and made a quick run. The temp gauge registered 41-42 degrees, and hit a low of 40.5! Apparently, the water had "turned over" (which typically happens when we get a strong wind from the NE).

I agree this is a scam. But let me ask... What do scammers get from a response? Names and addresses are readily available. What can they do with a cell phone number? Or is the point to get a contact, for the purposes of personal followup?

The carpet runner in my CD-22 (see photos) was purchased from the stock rolls of carpet runner at Home Depot. It comes bound on the (side) edges and is a perfect fit!

I adjusted mine up and in, using spacers: made a big difference in ease of loading.

Even something as simple as dirty connectors may be the culprit. (That was the case on my 5th wheel two years ago.) Use sandpaper to shine up the copper connectors.

Chuck: By "small removable head" do you mean porta-potti? If so, they come in different heights. It might be cheaper and easier simply to buy a new, higher porta-potti. (I put in one with a shorter height, so I could have more head room (pun intended). Wayne

I note that the experience which initiated this thread was from an owner of a CD-25. I have a CD-22 which is much lighter, but I also tow (not at the same time!) a 32' fifth wheel which is heavier than the CD-25. The amount of weight one is towing makes a BIG difference. Another major factor...

It's probably not decadent. But just think, you are robbing some one else from the fun of owning a C-Dory!
