    Looking at buying a C-dory

I missed that part, Yeah it almost has to be smaller than my 16. I don't know what it is rated for but mine has a 35 on it and I know that most 16s have something a bit larger. I checked the C-Dory site and they recommend 40 hp for a new one.

    Looking at buying a C-dory

My 16' C-Dory Angler has a plate that says it is rated for four people. I'm thinking it's a 16 foot Angler. I'd pass on it and send me the guys phone number :)

    16' Angler on Craigslist? Gone!

What I hate is when you see that "once in a lifetime deal" that you just have to move on or you'll never forgive yourself. I have ended up calling in sick to work and driving a couple of hundred miles just to find out that the item was a piece of junk and the seller misrepresented it. That...

    16' Angler on Craigslist? Gone!

How does one expect to sell a boat without pictures?

    16' Angler on Craigslist? Gone!

Just for fun and giggles I check craigslist for boats on a daily basis. I swear I saw a 16' C-Dory angler there this morning and now that I'm trying to find it again it's gone. Must have been a great deal. I think the asking price was $17,000 something. Anyone else see it?

    Loose eye bolt.

I've been lucky with this boat. Often it's not tackling a single problem that intimidates me. It's the thought of what else may be uncovered in the process that causes me to hesitate. But with boats and airplanes, you can't leave problems unsolved bcause you don't want to fall out of the sky or...

    Loose eye bolt.

I now have a nice tight, solidly seated and properly bedded eye bolt. The plastic inspection plate was the answer. I was able to finish off the smaller hole in front of the inspection plate and directly above the eye bolt that I used to access the nut with a piece of a broom handle. Since the...

    "Bout Done

Finally got her in the water for the first time since I did all the new work. The trailer lights are great, up out of the way and the poles give me a target to aim for when loading. No more submerged lights. It ran like crap though so it was back home. I pulled the fuel pump and carb for a...

Couldn't resist doing one last thing to the rig..... Raised Trailer Lights! It also gives me something to aim for when loading.

The Stone Horse is a very practical and seaworthy boat, much like our C-dories. A great design.

    "Bout Done

I'm still patching holes that the previous abusers drilled all over the place. I think I have them all now. Also just drained the oil from the lower units in the two outboards. Ugly stuff! I'd launch her tomorrow but I'm helping a friend launch his sailboat and he's been waiting longer...

    "Bout Done

There's always something but I think I have this little 16 footer in the bag. I started out last year with a 1982 C-Dory Angler that had been neglected and abused. Over the past year she has been "my little project". After a lot cleaning up, fixing and replacing she's about as done as she is...

    Loose eye bolt.

Not sure what you mean by 'take some steps to protect the core"? At first I thought it was hollow but once I got my hand down in there I found that it had Styrofoam in it. They used some 1/2 inch sheets of Styrofoam to box in the area and then injected the it with the spray in type, at least...

I still need to patch the holes and caulk the eyebolt but here are some photos.... /IMG_1612_zps6897f612.jpg.html][/URL]

    Loose eye bolt.

It's done. Thanks for all the great ideas. I couldn't have done it without you guys. I started out by cutting a 5" hole about six inches back from the very most forward point of the raised, cabin floor. That got me to where I could see what I was up against. Fortunately we were able to get...
