I want to thank everyone that participates in this forum for all the information. It helped me make the final decision. I have been reading articles on this forum constantly for the last few weeks. My wife and I had decided on a C-dory quite awhile ago but I wanted to try and find a good used one and learn from the c-brats everything I could. The C-dory dealer on Vancouver Island where I live has given me a great deal and I am satisfied. The big problem I have now is how do I sleep while I am waiting a month for delivery. I don't drink so that's out. Any suggestions?

Start saving money for all the boat toys you'll want to buy, plus the woodshop tools you'll need to build custom cabinets, etc. so you will have something to photograph and upload to the albums -- whereupon you'll peruse other members' project photos and the cycle begins anew.

Congratulations!!

Congratulations, Jim. Only a month to wait? Easy - it will take you that long to go through every photo in the files here. And let's not forget about visiting the boat-stuff stores to get all the things you didn't even know you needed. These are exciting times - welcome to the fold!

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Way to go!
Let me know if you find yourself motoring north. I am sure I will have found a boat by next summer....
Congrats.

Congratulations to you! I know well the anticipation of a distant delivery. This site helped me get through, and helps get through the Winter non-boating season. Just take it "one day at a time". Mike.

Congratulations Jim. What you do while you wait is continue to read about all the things you can buy and do to your new boat. The Seattle Boat Show Get-together sign up sheet in under Events at the top of the home page, and there is a discussion link there also. The link will have all the info about the hotel and contact info. It is a great time with other C-Dory owners and wanabees, plus the boat show.

Hope to see you there.

Congratulations. A month is plenty of time to get completely confused on what assesories you want to add and where you want to mount them. If you scan the photo section you'll get some good insight.

The wife and I just took delivery of ours and we're having just as much fun putting the rest of "My Heaven" together. See you out on the water or at the Seattle Boat Show.

Congratulations Jim!

You will enjoy your C-Dory.

Oh, the best part is spending forever adding the equipment that makes it YOUR boat!

Congrats on the new boat. How will you sleep for a month? Geez - I ordered mine at a boat show in Jan 2002 and the boat wasn't delivered until June/July of the same year. A 1 month wait is nothin' ! Spend that time looking at other people's C-Dory's and talking about what you plan to add. I would do some things differently if I had known a bit more before I starting adding things on.

Hi Jim, Congratulations. You have a month, do some looking at the photo albums on this site. But also, do some prioritizing, What you want and what you need. And what can you use that will do double duty. It may be a 22, but it is still a limited space, and the more room you have to move around, the more you are going to enjoy your space on the water. There is lots of good advice on this site, but each is individual, their boat fits them. Yours will fit you too, give it some time.

Congratulations...... I think our purchase of our C-Dory was one of the best things we ever bought..... I would not hesitate a second to buy another...
I don't think we have ever met anyone with a C-Dory that didn't feel the same.... great boats and even nicer folks.

I bought my new c-dory from port boat house in port alberni. I am dealing with a fellow named Dave. So far so good , but I don't have the vessel yet.

Jim,
Congradulations on your purchase of a new CD. Even though i was counting on you to pay for my fuel south next week I think you made the correct choice.
You know the old saying..."the happiest two days of a boat owners life is the day you buy and the day you sell it. Now you can enjoy the 1st day and I envy you. I did that 24 yrs. ago and I have not had the 2nd day yet nor do I want it.

Good luck in your boating.
