Yamaha Washdown?

The hot water source is the hose flushing attachment that is built in on the port side of the engine at the top of the transom level just below the engine cowling.
It has a standard female garden hose thread, so you'll need a male threaded fitting, some hose, and some kind of control valve plus any other fittings you need for your application.
I haven't used the outlet on my engine (same exact one as yours), but would be careful to not take out so much water as to affect engine cooling. Perhaps rising the engine idle lever would raise the rpm enough to provide as much water as you need, if at rest and not moving.
I'd watch the engine cooling stream ("pee stream") on the other side of the engine to see if the pressure is staying up. The engine should also let you know if it gets hot through the ECM monitor functions, but no need to get anywhere near that ballpark if you watch things closely. Let us know how it goes. Joe.

Has anyone used a Honda 90 in this fashion. I am in trouble with my wife since we down sized-no hot water. It would be nice for a warm shower if you were in clean fresh water. I plan to buy a fresh water flush fitting for my Honda for use at home on the trailer any way.

The shower hose can be seen in my album. Since this is a family pub I'll not show the shower in use.... Worth every penny

Besides having warm water for taking showers, it would be nice to be able to use the warm water for washing the boat.
To that end, I'm going to make my hose long enough to reach to the other end of the boat so that I can connect it to automobile type water brush to it in order to wet down, soap scrub, and rinse off the boat when needed. For that purpose, I'll need a valve at the inside brush end to turn off the water while spraying on soap and scrubbing before the final rinsing. This valve is needed anyway for showers and the like. Yes you should be able to do the same with the round cowled Hondas. The Honda classic won't work that way. You will need to have a flush adaptor or make a special fitting for the Honda that pushes on the check valve for the engine flush fitting. It would be a pretty simple deal to make.
On either motor you need to be sure to limit the flow enough that you don't starve the motor for water. IE: if at full stream no water comes out the telltale then you need to put a restriction on the "shower" hose.
Also, be aware that the water can be up to the temp of the thermostat on the motor. I think Honda comes with a 120 degree thermostat. And I believe they can be upgraded to about 190 degrees for colder climates. So be careful not to burn yourself! Most of the people that make these use them for a sink to wash their hands/tackle with.

I would recommend an actual wash down pump for doing your deck washing. The volume of water coming from the motor is not much more than what comes out of the telltale on the motor. Certainly not enough for washing down the deck. A good washdown pump will put out at least 3gpm. Washdown pumps can be purchased for about $120 plus the hoses and fittings. I got mine at a marine garage sale for $20

I've actually wanted to add a wash down pump for some time, just really didn't want to add another system back under the transom to fiddle with, and since I boat in fresh water most of the time, I don't have the overwhelming need to wash great quantities of fish blood and guts off the boat. I already have electric pumped fresh water at the galley sink, but it comes, of course, from the 20 gallon tank and I can't waste it washing the boat.
If necessary, I might just build the pump into the covered slip and dock storage locker at the marina, going with a 120 volt pump and a small pressure washer. Would keep the system out of the boat, which has both positive and negative aspects to it.
I'm at the point after 6 years of ownership of the C-Dory that I'm running out of room for improvements, thus my statement a few months back about carefully considering each addition as you go along so as to not to have to get into the predicament of wanting to add something and not having any space for it or having to remove something to make space.
After a while, you begin looking for additions that serve and combine multiple uses to conserve space and eliminate complexity.

As you can see the pump is about 10" long and 4" wide/high. Then you need to look at where you are going to put the through hull fitting for the water intake and what you are going to do about mounting the hose and switch. This is just one of many projects I intend to install in my boat. I already have the pump so I just need to figure out a location and wiring.
As for using the cooling system on the motor. If you grab too much water you have the possibility of getting hotspots and overheading it. You also have the possibility of causing it to run too cold. Neither of these is good for the motor so use it carefully!

The pick up is through the transom below the water level so the pump would have to be used when the boat was not on plane, but that's not an issue, since I'll be the only one using it, and can't steer the boat and wash it down at the same time.
If I do this, I may want to move one of the batteries that is between the two gas tanks for easy access to the pump, which will be near the bilge and live well pumps, which initiates the Dreaded Domino Effect!!!

We have a diaphragm type Jabsco pump, with 6' long pickup and discharge hose. This acts as a wash down pump (use a sun shower to heat the water--we have a 4 gallon sun shower) This same pump can be used to "vacuum" up water from the foreward cockpit or aft cabin.
