I used 3M 5200 to attach the latch to my glass, after the glue the self stick adhesive that comes on the latch failed. Glass has to be very clean to get a good bond though. Been well stuck on for a few years now.

Salt a way is very good for recent salt. For persistent stains there is a product called "A-maz". It is available at Amazon and Home Depot lists it. Ace hardware used to carry it. This is a bio degradable paste. We were told about it by the glass shop who did our shower enclosure.

For daily use, we use a Windex, or Rain-X window cleaner. We keep the front windows coated with Rain-X. (Cannot use used on plastics, but there is a specific plastic product.). Salt water runs off well with the Rain-X.

For the side window "handle/latch". I have used epoxy and the "glue" used for rear view mirrors on windshields. The handle and the glass has to be very clean, and then wiped with isopropyl alcohol. The new ones come with a pad which which is a double stick tape. Works moderately well.

I do like Bob with the rain-x application & found it does really help with salt water spray after application & in between cleaning with windex. After the salt is off I have found the yellow rags from Costco make cleaning the windows without streaks a breeze compared to paper towels. I now always carry a bundle of them aboard.

I will be purchasing the A-max that Bob mentioned. I use the salt away in the motor cooling system & it worked great preventing build up there & also on the outside of my old now gone Honda 40’s, but again like Bob said it didn’t do so well on the old salt build up.

RainX works well on the front and side windows. I also carry 2 spray bottles, one with a vinegar water mix, and one with just water mix. The water works good on the RainX windows that have fresh salt water, the vinegar works for all the rest of the window cleaning.
